There is no way they have these jobs because they are good at what they do in the broadcast booth..
Aaron Ward has 3 Cups... they should replace Kypreos AND Healy with one guy who is obviously more qualified.

Glen Healy is a dickweed. Probably about 12 years ago, the Leafs held their training camp in Barrie, and a few of them showed up at the Queens where my friends and I were having a few drinks. (If you don't know, the Queens is a bar in Barrie) Not being loaded at this point as it was pretty early in the night, I walked up to their table. Glen Healy was on the end closest to me, so:

I said, "Hi, would you guys mind--"

Healy, "Beat it, kid!"

Me, "Seriously?"

Healy, "Beat it."

So Healy basically told me to go eff myself in a virtually empty bar when I wanted to ask for autographs. Mats Sundin gladly gave me one when I approached him at the bar. Sundin was a superstar, Healy was a backup... and one with a bad attitude, clearly.

The overall quality of most HNIC commentators has severly dropped. I can hardly bring myself to watch it now. Friedman and MacLean seem to be the only ones with a clue, and Weeks to a lesser extent. TSN has surpassed them long ago.

I bet Healy is a lonley divorced man living in a dingy studio apartment in a run down part of TO. They bring him in to do the shows, hose him off, throw on a suit from wardrobe and turn him loose on the poor Canadian hockey fans. Shame on you CBC...

Wait, you wanted Healy's autograph? Are you a process server?

Anyway, has anyone heard a warm fuzzy story about Glen? Most NHLers (even the dickish ones) have at least done something that vaguely counts as human... just curious if anyone knew of any example of Healy doing so.

After Hours on CBC last night showed how a back-up goalie should behave.

I don't mind any of it to be honest. Dirtbag or Saint, a panelist is allowed to have an opinion and sometimes hearing a bit of colour in the commentating is welcomed! If I wanted to be bored to death with facts etc I could just search Google. Sometimes it's a hard pill to swallow when our favourite players or teams are getting bashed but at least some of these guys have the balls to say it.

If you want to really be annoyed turn on NHL Network and try listening to EJ Hradek's whiny assed voice.... but be sure to have some aspirin and water close by for the impending headache.

I don't begrude him having an opinion. I just hate him as a person. He strikes me as the type of guy who would go up to a bunch of kids and ask "Why did you get ice cream, it will only melt or make you fat" then punch one of them with his Cup ring

it's like Simon Cowell, Kevin O'Leary. Just for TV. He is annoying though.

The best ever Healy moment on TSN was when Duthie mocked Healy "oh you mean when you won that Stanley Cup in 94", as a response to Healy constantly referencing his Cup win in 94' when giving analysis.

It was obvious that the panel was tired of hearing about Healy's cup win as a back-up to Richter, and Duthie mocked him good. Not sure if Healy has brought it up since.

I can appreciate his bluntness and direct analysis, but no question he comes off as bitter and negative.

Lol hell no! I really wanted Domi's but he was farthest away from me so I was just going to ask all of them to sign. I never cared one way or the other for Healy before that moment, and ever since then I just want to punt my TV every time I see him. At any rate, Sundin was super nice and I'll always respect him just because he talked to every single person in that bar who wanted to talk to him. Healy acted like somebody had pissed in his pint glass. I wish somebody actually had!

Is it just me, or does it seem like Healy is getting basic general knowledge wrong now?

Watching the game the other night, and he started talking about the Hawks, and how deep they are. He mentioned Kane and Toews, then hesitated, mentioned them again, and finally had to look at his notes to remember the names of Hossa, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook.

Then tonight, he's talking about Habs GM Bergevin changing the culture of the locker room by getting rid of guys like Gomez and Cammalleri. But it was Gauthier who dealt Cammy.

I don't know. He just seems to be very unprepared these playoffs.
