In a keeper league (points only) and MAY have the opportunity to land either Pronger or Phaneuf. Both have been equally impressive thus far and I see both landing in the 40-50 pt range this year. Albeit, Dion is far younger and I can protect him going fwd in the years to come.
So what would you do???????? JAG

I would go for Phaneuf this year and going forward.

Phaneuf was my selection as well. Pronger is at the end and is getting injured more and more. He's still valuable but Phaneuf and TO are always improving.

If pronger is healthy I'll take him over phaneuf. But there's no guarantee of that and he'll only help you out for so many more seasons. So I'll take phaneuf here.

Seriously? In a Keeper League?
You do remember that Phaneuf is just 26 right? I have had the pleasure of watching Pronger dominate physically and produce quality numbers offensively for over 15 seasons but the dude is 37 years old!!! Phaneuf might not give you the 17 or 20 goals he shot out of the gate with but he should be a nice 12-15 goal guy with 45-50 point seasons for the next decade. Pronger is actually under contract for FOUR years after this season but I can't help but think his injuries will continue to add up and his numbers will suffer.

Regardless of health I'd take Phaneuf in any format. It's only been a few games but he's looking like he's regained the flair he had during his Calgary days.
That, and the fact that he told me personally that he's going to have a monster season last week when I ran into him and Elisha Cuthbert at a restaurant
