What are people thinking about Souray this season? He was awfully good there before he had some injuries and a blow up with the city of Edmonton and he has something to prove.
I have him in one league, and thinking of picking him up in another for Gonchar. Maybe I am wrong but I think he could be a solid 4th fantasy D this season. Thoughts? |

hes a dark horse for a big season. for a 4th D, 35 pts/80 pims with upside is fantastic.

Souray is in the right place with the right skills to get 15G and 30 A, and at least 10- 15 on the PP. This is if he doesn't get injured.
He probaly will. Put his value at 10 G 20 A, and a injury just 3 weeks after x mas, he likes to play hard and then rest the injury.

I'd rather Gonchar, very easily, if that is who it is between.
If not, Souray could for sure bounce back. 2 pts in 2 games is not too shabby. the only thing that is a tad concerning is that it looks like Goligoski-Robidas on the top unit. If Souray can grab that top spot, he could easily put up 15 goals

Gonchar may bounce back this season but decided to drop him for Souray. I have had Gonchar on a couple teams in the past three years and he has been about frustrating as it comes when it has to do with injuries. He is the type that will just miss games and not go on IR, and you are left wondering when he will play or not. He is getting older and so I doubt the injury issues will get any better, and this is a far different team he is on than the one in Pittburgh where he last put up big numbers.
I think Souray has a lot of potential and also has a lot to prove, as well. His last few injuries seem to have been more a result of this recklessness (while fighting) and I have to believe he will not blow what will probably be his last chance by doing that again. He is off to a decent start but that does not mean much, lets see if he keeps it up. Worst thing that happens is I have to find anoth 4th D to take his spot. -Gonchar has checked out. He's just riding the wave now. Unless he gets moved to a competitor, i wouldn't count on anything from him. -Don't trust Souray to be smart. He's not. However, i do think he has a chip on his should and something to prove, so until he looses his cool and punches someone in their face mask, he's the guy. He's still got a rocket from the point.

I was just saying that I think that given how bad he screwed up his career in recent years that it will probably take a lot more to get him to break his hand again on a bad punch...
Another assist tonight, even if he gets hurt tomorrow, happy with his production thus far! |

Yeah I rostered Souray as well....going to ride him until he breaks down and then jettison him really quickly
