Jason Pominville will have a monster season this year. Mark it down. He's healed and he has very good chemistry with Vanek (who will also have a very good year) on the first line. Pommer is on the first powerplay unit, unlike what's in Dobber's guide, and he's been wearing the C in pre-season. 52 points is NOT what's in store for him this year.

Just thought I'd bring it up because I think he's been generally underrated here this summer.

Agreed sentium. Everyone talks about his contract making him a trade candidate but there's a reason they committed that cash to a guy who's never posted unreal numbers - he can play (and play well) in all situations.

I find Dobber is abnormally high on 2nd tier players on the Sabres like Gerbe, Ennis, Gragnani and consistently underrates their proven guys like Pominville, Vanek, etc.
Maybe that's because Pommer and Vanek are taller than 6'0'' though.

I honestly don't understand how people thought Boyes was going to be competition for Pominville. I've been adamant all summer that Pominville would be on one of the top two lines.

The higher salary alone + the length of time Pominville has been in Buffalo/track record Pominville has there. Plus I just think Pominville is better than Boyes.
