I don't even know how they're going to spin this. The original plan was that Dexter was gonna use Estrada's gun to shoot LaGuerta but now Deb shot her. If it went down the way Dexter planned they probably would have gotten away with it with ease but now that Deb was the one that shot her (diff shell casings, blood spatter, etc.) that reaaaallly ****s everything up.

I have a feeling, that as eyemissgilmour mentions, that Batista is going to be the one that ultimately brings these two down. Which in a way would be kind of poetic, as all these seasons we've been cheering for a serial killer (regardless of the code). Now the code is gone and he has unravelled and he took his sister with him. Everyone who has gone after Dexter has had some kind of annoying quality about them that made you just want to see Dexter kill them and be done with it, but Batista is a guy that everybody loves and nobody wants to see die.

Also poetic, that they both have traumatizing events happen in a shipping container.

Dexter said Hannah is the only person who he can be himself around. Considering Deb just killed LaGuerta and we have her not too far removed from a confession of her loving Dexter, is there any chance they actually explore something more than a brother/sister relationship? I don't see how Dexter's turning in of Hannah and Deb's killing of LaGuerta does not bring them closer together.

Just finished the finale. I have no idea either how they'll spin this in the next season. I'm guess that they could stage a scene where she was supposedly going to attack Dexter when Deb stepped in a killed her. Bit of a stretch, but sort of like the whole show. lol

Hard to say, but, based on the final scene, I don't think they will try to spin the Laguerta killing at all. Those 2 bodies are already in the ocean; the only question is whether Dexter used a knife to dig out the bullet first. Just in case the body is ever found. And I don't think that would be necessary, unless there was already a police record of Deb using that gun to kill someone else. I don't know - just speculating. I'm no forensics expert.

I just think they wouldn't have left the bodies and then gone back later to dispose of them. So I think that's already resolved, except for the inevitable investigation into Laguerta's disappearance.

Next season will be more about Deb losing even more of what was left in her mind.

My only thing about LaGuerta's disappearance being a non-issue is that Angel and she had too much dialogue beore she went missing. He'll know something is foul after she promised to show up and didn't.

I was referring to the possibility brought up by others that maybe Dex tries to stage the crime scene somehow. I just don't see how that could possibly happen. Especially since they already showed them having left the crime scene. I think that implies they already cleaned up the scene and got rid of the bodies.

I agree. They cleaned it up. It's a shame that Deb shot her because finding dude (forgot his name - the one who put the hit out on Dexter's mom) and LaGuerta dead would have closed the Bautista loop with him knowing that Maria had something to do with his release.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I really wonder if they will keep it a bro/sis thing. I keep thinking of what Dexter said to Hannah and how close Deb and Dex were walking together at the close of the Finale.

I can tell you this, I can easily see Dex and Deb taking Hannah out next. She's another loose end that needs tied up.
