We'll be doing a live chat - front page. Need one more volunteer to moderate the chat/help out. Would prefer an established forum presence

DEEP draft. 15 teams, big rosters. Hard to love my team, I have some weaknesses. I like the team considering the scoring categories. In other leagues this team wouldn't be nearly as good (in my opinion)

Remember our scoring categories first...

G, A, PPP, PIM, Plus-minus, SOG. Favors offensive players.

Goalies: GAA, W, SV. Saves is 1/3 of the categories, and I targeted it as my cat to own.

MALKIN (6th overall)
E.STAAL (beast)
ANDERSON (respectable GAA, tons of SV)
SUBBAN (PIM, PPP, etc)
SHARP (even as C has immense value)
PAVELEC (tons of SV, reached a bit here)
DOAN (solid, deadine bait?)
GIORDANO (PIM, PPP)
RYAN WHITNEY (PPP, zero competition)
A MCDONALD (getting LW eligibility I hear...)
HORNQVIST (SOG, PPP)
MALONE (no Gagne, more ice time, health)
VRBATA (underrated PPP SOG every year)
MONTOYA (a great 3rd if earns starter spot, if not I'll drop)
FOSTER (Lubo injury away from top PP time. Liability but PP monster)
WHEELER (no competition for RW ice time. SOG PPP G)
HAMRILIK (on good even strength team, solid across the board)
AVERY (awful last year, sleeper for offense and PIM)
PEVERLEY (hope he moves to RW from C - I see 60 pts)
WOLSKI (boom or bust top line LW)
TYUTIN (meh, dime-a-dozen depth dman)
M.GARON (roloson hurt = value. lightning may rest rollie)
DELZOTTO (top PP unit or bust)
HUSELIUS (stash on IR)
ROLSTON (top PP for Isles? SOG regardless)

C - Sharp/Malkin/Staal/Peverley/McDonald (moving to LW)
LW - Avery/Wolski/Malone/Huselius/Rolston
RW - Wheeler/Hornqvist/Doan/Vrbata
D - Giordano/Subban/Del Zotto/Tyutin/Whitney/Hamrlik/Foster
G - Pavelec/Anderson/Garon/Montoya

I left for a little bit in the middle of the draft and took a couple guys way earlier than I wanted to. Oh well.

C: M Richards, Berglund, Steen, Seguin, Turris
LW: Ovechkin, Gagne, Laich, Versteeg, Bailey
RW: Backes, Stafford, Bourque, Little, Bergfors
D: Phaneuf, Pronger, Corvo, Gragnani, Leopold, Kulikov, Quincey
G: Halak, Kiprusoff, Giguere

Edit: Full Team GMG pick-by-pick breakdown seen here.

I'll jump in too -

C - Dubinsky, Koivu, Stepan, Stoll
LW - Zetterberg, Burrows, Penner, Brunette, Dupuis
RW - Heatley, Voracek, Gionta, Brouwer, Jones
D - Keith, Suter, Seabrook, Montador, Kubina, OEL, Ericsson
G - Rinne, Backstrom, Neuvirth, C. Mason

I like my team's chances of going the distance.

A bit weak at C, however Zetterberg could land the dual eligibility and shift over as Dupuis can make a great 4th LW.

Willing to use Neuvirth and C. Mason (just for you Jeff!) as trade bait if chance goes my way.

A bit of a reach on OEL, but risk/reward.

Overall mood - Happy and ready for 11/12.

I'll follow suit

Crosby (boom or bust, but at 11 even if he plays 50 games I can IR him until then)

Broduer (a bit of a reach here, but with so many goalies flying off, he wouldn't have gotten back to me, still one of the greatest fantasy goalies to own)

Thornton (propped him up in my column this week, so I had to back it up. I think he bounces back with the competition thinning out)

Toews (debated about this one, but I needed protection in case Crosby was out for a long period)

Hall (desperately need a LW at this point, injury kinda lowered his overall numbers last season, but should be much better if he can stay healthy and another year under his belt)

Lidstrom (number 1 PP QB on a solid offensive team, should be a great send off if this is his final season)

Smith (all the goalies were pretty much plucked by this point, needed a starter somewhere...)

Edler (number 1 PP QB on a solid offensive team...)

Wisniewski (ditto... follow my pattern?)

Elias (LW thinning, with Zajac out Elias could center a top line with either Kovo or Parise, good steal IMO)

Alfredsson (all reports say he's healthy so far, not a bad snag for a 60 pointer this late)

Seto (shoots a ton, should get all the ice-time he wants in Minny)

Gonchar (another oldie... last season was a bit of shambles, new coach should help the PP)

Hejduk (once again another top-six player, banking on the chemistry of Duchene, Mueller and Hejduk)

Boyes (another top-sixer, Buffalo looking pretty deep offensively heading into the season)

Lupul (finally having centers in TO now should help Lupul)

Carkner (wanted some PIMs through a seldomly used D slot)

Landeskog (rolled the dice on this one, but LW was getting really shallow at this point, should get plenty of ice-time in COL and Calder candidate)

Langkow (won't expect miracles, but a number 1 center this late is a steal, IMO)

Sturm (could see some time with the Sedins on the PP, as a bench LW not a bad alternative)

Jovanovski (was just looking at depth d-men at this point... should form a nice 1-2 combo with Campbell in FLA)

Larsson (swing for the fences, PP QB in NJ is completely up for grabs, debated between him or Taorimina and Barker, went with Larsson instead)

Hanzal (I've always liked him, Langkow move hurt his fantasy value, but as a bench C I think I coulda done worst)

Emery (needed a 3rd G, goalie settings aren't too fussy only 3 categories compared to 6 offensive categories... in the past if you had 2 decent goalies (averaging middle of the pack numbers with a strong offense) you were good enough to win)

Dorsett (just needed a goon for some sneaky PIMs)

C- Crosby, Thornton, Toews, Langkow, Hanzal
LW- Hall, Elias, Lupul, Landeskog, Sturm
RW- Alfredsson, Setoguchi, Hejduk, Boyes, Dorsett
D- Lidstrom, Edler, Wisniewski, Gonchar, Jovanovski, Carkner, Larsson
G- Brodeur, Smith, Emery

Here we go with Team Youngblood....

8th: G- Henrik Lundqvist (first goalie to go)

23rd: C/RW - Jeff Carter (dual eligibility at the moment. Monster in SOG, PP, G, you get the point)

38th: G - Jonas Hiller (wasn't many goalies available or there wouldn't be by the time it got back to me so I selected an elite tender with a bit of an injury risk.)

53rd: D - Mike Green ( I really wanted to take a LW here but I could fathom why Green was still available. I took the BPA in my opinon)

68th: D - Drew Doughy (ditto for Doughty)

83rd: RW - Phil Kessel (might be the only pick I regret as I needed LW but I liked his ability to kill the SOG and PPP cats. I never own Maple Leafs in any league as I don't want it to sway me one way or the other as a fan but I made an exception here)

98th: RW - Loui Eriksson

113th: LW - Alex Tanguay (LW was really getting thin by this point)

128th: C - Jordan Staal (represents my 2nd line C and I like him to have a huge year)

143rd: LW - Nikolai Kulemin (best available LW here)

158th: RW - Ales Hemsky (I was surprised to see him make it to me in the 11th round. Hemsky has to put together a good healthy season sooner or later doesn't he? Could be dealt too)

173rd: C - Derick Brassard (represents my 3rd line C and definitely has potential to take the next step. Brassard could get moved to the left side as well which would help my team out)

188th: LW - Vinny Prospal (hoping Vinny is on his "good year" alongside Carter/Nash)

203rd: D - Anton Babchuk (awesome on the PP and his SOG are respectable)

218th: D - Matt Carle (he was a sleeper on my list and I was glad to snatch him in the 15th round)

233rd: LW - Sergei Kostitsyn (big gamble here as I hope he can replicate last season's stats - not overly confident in him though)

248th: D - Jamie McBain (hoping that Kaberle flounders and/or Pitkanen injures himself and McBain doesn't look back. Either way, he's a good depth pick here)

263rd: C - Nik Antropov (he was on my sleeper list as well and I let him slide about 3 rounds before caving. I will take him as my 4th line C)

278th: LW - Matt Cooke (douche but I needed some PIM)

293rd: RW - Michael Ryder (I like for him to get lots of opportunity in big D and fits my 4th RW spot nicely)

308th: LW - Milan Michalek (Very little competition. He can't continue to suck, can he? If so, he'll be placed on my IR or back into the waiver wire)

323rd: G - Mark Dekanich (I have no faith in Steve Mason and Dekanich is a solid option to take over once Mason sh*ts the bed)

338th: D - Tom Gilbert (his +- will be terrible but he should be on the top PP unit especially while Ryan Whitney recovers).

353rd: LW - Mattias Tedenby (depth LWer as it was my weakest position)

368th: D - Keith Ballard (boom/bust type of pick. Hoping he can have a better season. If not, dropsy)

I know that my team is going to be weak in the PIM department but I definitely feel the potential to fill the offensive cats + SOG is very strong. I tried to pick players that had little competition and were all but gauranteed top six roles.

Should be a fun year. G'luck guys and thanks for the invite. Let the trades begin!

C - Carter (rw), J.Staal, Brassard, Antropov
LW - Tanguay, Kulemin, S.Kostitsyn, Cooke, Tedenby, Michalek
RW - Kessel, Eriksson, Hemsky, Ryder
D - Green, Doughty, Babchuk, Carle, McBain, Gilbert, Ballard
G - Lundqvist, Hiller
