Hi all,
8 team points only keeper league (team 2 in sig). We've protected 11 each, we draft 8 rounds. In what order would you draft these players? Because it's a relatively shallow league (~115 total forwards employed; ~75 forwards protected each year), NHL-readiness should have more weight. Tedenby Ladeskog Turris Gerbe Tatar Dalpe Adam Huberdeau Niederreiter Johansen Kuznetzov Tarasenko Granlund Immediate impact should be valued at a premium. Thanks!

Welcome to the boards!
This year: Gerbe Turris Landeskog Tedenby Niederreiter Johanssen Dalpe Adam Tarasenko Granlund Kuznetzov Huberdeau Tatar There is a distinct separation between Adam and Tarasenko. From Tarasenko, Iexpect that none of these players will play in the NHL this season. Gerbe is the closest thing from getting a solid contribution this season. He is an injury/slump away from quality linmates and PP time. Based on potential: Tarasenko Granlund Kuznetzov Huberdeau Johanssen Turris Tatar Landeskog Tedenby Gerbe Niederreiter Dalpe Adam

As Habs 83 pointed out, there is a clear separation in this list between guys who have a chance at contributing this year and guys who don't (although I'm not sure how Tatar made it to the bottom of the list considering some of these guys won't even be in NA next year).
In terms of guys who can contribute this year I'd break them into teirs like this: Turris/Tedenby Landeskog/Gerbe/Dalpe Johansson/Nino/Adam Tatar (could move way up this list if opportunity presents itself) Huberdeau There are a number of guys here who I'm not sure will ever put up the points to deserve a keeper spot in an 8 team league......Adam, Gerbe, Dalpe and possibly Landeskog and Nino all strike me as ones who'd be fringe contributors even if they hit their upside. Your league starts 72 forwards at any one time so the question is; who has the upside to crack that list? With thirty teams in the NHL and three forwards (usually) on the 1st PP unit, you're really looking at a pool of 90 players to select from although there will be the occasional 2nd unit guy that would be worth consideration. This would lead me to conclude that anyone on your list who isn't likely to ever make the 1st unit PP should probably be ignored. Guys who I'd be interested in then are: Huberdeau / Tarasenko / Turris (timeline factored in for Turris) Kuznetsov / Granlund / Tatar (many will disagree with me on Granlund) Tedenby / Johanssen / Landeskog (I also know many will disagree on Johanssen) The rest wouldn't intrest me Last edited by 4horsemen; 08-27-2011 at 03:33 AM. |
