Shattenkirk actually outscored Pietrangelo after the trade last season. Doesn't really mean anything just wanted to mention it because of your last sentence.

AP would be my choice. Burns, Wiz, Pronger, and Enstrom have all had injury problems recently, and while Enstrom's injury was minor he's a small guy and I do worry about his health long-term. The other three I mentioned are certifiable BAB. Boyle and Viz are both 14 years older than AP.

For next season specifically, I would assume most of these players will outscore AP. But I still think he should be around 45 points, which is pretty good on it's own. I don't think the extra 10-15 points you'll get from Boyle or Viz are worth the age difference.

If you can bring a sub-D in for Lubo when he gets injured, than Lubo should be your choice... he should have been everybody's choice. That ANA PP is just sick... possibly the best in the league.

I agree, can't believe he's still there. Enstrom and Boyle have already been taken, the rest of the players taken were forwards. I highly doubt Visnovsky will be there when I select with the last pick though. I'm thinking I'll have to choose between Burns and Pietrangelo.

Pietrangelo will be an elite offensive defenseman in 2-3 years. In a keeper format I would take Piet over ALL of those guys without blinking. He should be a steady 50+ point defenseman from here on out.

The tough part is we only have 5 keepers, and I doubt Pietrangelo would unseat any of my top 5 players for a spot on my keeper list next year. Still, it's probably a toss up between him and Burns for points next season.

Pros and cons for both.

Pietrangelo: Was last year his coming out party? Is there more where that came from? If so, he will break 50 points. I think there's a good chance he does. Some will think he "got hot" last season and is more of a low-40s guy. I see him going up.

Burns: He should get more points on the SJ PP. But, will he stay healthy? Injuries have always been a risk with Burns. Do you roll the dice w/ him and pass on Piet? If goals are bonused, perhaps. If not, I like Pietrangelo more.
