Bone Machine by Tom Waits may be the best album of the 90s.

Bad video quality, but awesome rendition of the song.

I'm going to second "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer....it's my favorite song of all time.

So much good music from the 90's, makes me nostalgic for elementary school. The whole pop-rock craze with Everclear and Goo Goo Dolls and Fastball....good times.

This is so hard.

In the aeroplane over the sea - Neutral milk Hotel (favourite album of all time)
Everlong - Foo Fighters
Yellow Ledbetter (live from Mesa) -- Pearl Jam
Glycerine -- Bush
Disarm -- Smashing Pumpkins
God of Wine -- Third Eye Blind
My Girl (In the Pines) -- Nirvana
Pepper -- Butthole Surfers
Scar Tissue -- RHCP
Where is my Mind -- Pixies

Now funny thing. I know Where is my Mind is 1988, but damn was I surprised to learn that. To me it was the start of something 'about' the 90's.

And though Neutral Milk Hotel's album is technically '90's it feels like 2000's, so I don't even feel like I should put it on. Weird.

Anything by Nirvana really... Have to lean towards Come As You Are.

There's thousands of others I could list but I'll stick with that for now.

Hunger Strike. Temple of the Dog. Put out in 1991.

One of my favourite songs ever.

no offense to the 90s generation but as far as rock music goes I think it was one of the weaker decades...the whole grunge thing was so overdone and its importance on shaping music has been so over-exaggerated that its borderline retarded. I like some stuff that Nirvana did but they were really nothing remarkable in my mind...had the Pixies and Sonic Youth not shown them how to construct their songs back in the 80s and had Nirvana not blatantly ripped off Killing Joke then I doubt anyone would ever have even heard of them. Perfect example of being in the right place at the right time. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden were much more musically proficient bands (though I never liked Pearl Jam much)

As far as bands that changed the music landscape though here's a few albums that stand out for me as shaping the music landscape:

1) Snoop - Doggystyle and Dr Dre - The Chronic completely turned hip hop on its head and introduced that smooth west coast style
2) REM - Automatic for the People - easily their best album on the 90s
3) Radiohead - Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer
4) RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magik... Frusciante takes this band to a whole new level

And why has no one mentioned Billy Ray Mullet's Achy Breaky Heart? LMAO
