if you're looking for 1-year help or wanting to capitalize on hype for trade value, Landeskog would be a good choice. otherwise i like Strome slightly ahead of Huberdeau for forwards-only, and vice-versa for C/LW/RW leagues.

I personally would like to know why people feel Strome > Huberdeau?
I am also curious to know if those people have seen both players play also. |

for me, i saw them both play very impressive games that resulted in each scoring the GWG in clutch situations. i did feel that Huberdeau's linemates were better and in particular, many of the highlight reel goals i saw from him either live or on TV during the Mem Cup came as a result of some sick set-up from Phillips or Beaulieau or someone else. otherwise, they're pretty damn similar players in a lot of respects.

i dont trust fla to develop someone properly and provide the supporting cast to take advantage of Huberdeu's production.
Islanders on the other hand are building a nice crop of young talent and i feel Strome will be in a better position to succeed.

In Florida's defence, the Dale Tallon has experience and I feel that they are headed in the right direction. People who worry about "Florida Prospects" are basing that mostly on the previous regime. I am not as worried as I used to be. Elite players should rise to the top no matter where they end up. Florida has some good prospects too - Huberdeau with Bjugstad and Howden is a solid line on paper.
In the end both of these players are close so I wasn't shocked by the split in votes. I do like Huberdeau's position (LW capable of playing C) better and feel he has a slightly higher upside. He's very very impressive to watch live. |

I'm really big on Strome....I took him 3rd in my draft, right after Hubs, and would have taken him over Hubs if I had the choice. But my league doesn't differentiate forward positions.
In a league that seperates C, LW, and RW, Hubs would be my pick. He has the potential to be one of the best producing wings in the league within the next few years, and that's something that shouldn't be passed up. I do like Strome's future supporting cast better, but Florida has a nice group of forward prospects on the way, and Hubs will be leading that group instead of being 2nd in command like Strome. Another point to consider is the centers you currently own on your prospect roster. Plus, Giroux you have listed at RW, but he's been playing C for about a year and a half now....he'll most likely have his position officially switched to C this season and then you have 3 top-end centers, and that makes you a little thin on the wings.

Huberdeau over Strome, mostly because Tavares is going to be occupying that number one pivot slot for a long time. I doubt Strome moves to the wing because Okposo should be on Tavares' right and eventually Niederreiter (but probably Moulson on his left.
