Default Quick Prospect Help Needed

Hey Guys,

Part 1
Who's the better option on D in EDM:

Taylor Chorney
Jeff Petry
Martin Marincin

Chorney has just been signed to a new contract, Petry played a good chunk of the season in EDM and Marincin has the highest upside IMO. Who do I go with?

Part 2
Who's the better option out of these prospects:

Teemu Pilkkinen
Drew Shore
Quinton Howden
Austin Watson
Blake Geoffrion
Tomas Kubalik

Thanks guys! Rep to be had obviously!

Part 1:

Definitely Marincin followed by Petry and then Chorney

Part 2:

Quinten Howden is the guy I would choose but Blake Geoffrion is a damn good prospect (and NHL ready) too. I tend to like guys who are close to establishing themselves even if it means sacrificing some upside. Blake is that kind of player.

Thanks man for the input. How far do you think Marincin is to being NHL-ready??

As a guy who watches 70+ Oilers games per year, I would say Petry is the best of those dmen for the short term. Marincin has the potential to be a bit better but Petry will likely be on the Oilers #1 PP this season which makes him much more valuable.

Marincin and it's not close.

Pullkinen has the highest upside... long wait though. I'd look at Watson or Howden.

Marincin.........Petry..................big gap..................Chorney

I like Pulkkinen as well. Although I do think Geoffrion is vastly under-rated. And he's a hell of a lot closer than Pulk.

Give me Marincin in the first and Howden in the second. Second choices would be Petry and Pulkkinen.

The first part is definitely Marincin but the second part is certainly up for debate. For me its between Pulkkinen and Watson, I think if you can afford to wait for a possible goal scorer with great upside then you go with Pulkinnen. If you need help soon go with Watson, if he doesn't make the Predators this year he will for sure next year. People forget how good of a player he is just because he was drafted after all those sick players like Fowler, Tarasenko and what not.
