I have a shot at picking any of these guys in my prospects draft (we're approaching round 9 of 10). My picks so far are all F or G: Kadri, Couturier, Beach, Etem, McNeill, Glennie, Schneider and Enroth.

Here are the guys I'm considering. Who do you like? I could use a good D to play on my current NHL roster as my D is thin so Wishart, Scandella and McDonagh are options but to me there seems to be more value at F.

You are correct, more value at forward. If you go with a forward, I'd choose Dustin Jeffrey since he might play wing with one of the big boys in Pitt and he just signed a 2 yr deal to stay there. Defenseman I would go with McDonagh (who will play, but defensive) or Scandella (who should play, 2 way), but overall defenseman are a crap shoot at this point.

That's funny that you mention those three as I would say they are the top 3 with Ty Wishart in the mix as well.

Do you see Scandella being a top 4 in the NHL and will he get any PP time in MIN?

What about Wishart? Does he fit into the top 4 in NYI?

I know what I get with McDonagh, a prolific skater with limited offensive ability, so I'm likely to pass on him.

As for Jeffrey, he's very intriguing for sure as he has a chance to succeed in PIT but I just think that Bylsma isn't buying into him and I wonder how his injury will affect his play (if at all?).

I am more than likely to pass on the rest (unless someone can make a very compelling argument) and hope that one of them slides to me in the final round of the draft.

I find it interesting that no one is showing love for Scandella or Wishart who have a handful of games played in the NHL? Obviously Morrow could have more upside but he won't play for several years (if at all)...I find that Armia is in the same boat so for that reason I'm likely to pass on them.

Thanks guys I ended up picking Dustin Jeffrey. I'm hoping hs comes back strong from his injury and I think he's good value in the top of the 9th round in a 16 team league. I also think some of the guys I originally listed have a chance of dropping as well so hopefully I can snag one in our last round.
