Bernier on way out the door?
Lombardi says Bernier too valuable to trade right now, great insurance policy with Quick returning from back surgery

“I don’t think that’s feasible at all right now. He’s an important part of this team. Let’s face it, our guys in the minors aren’t ready for that role. And that’s an important role. Like Darryl [Sutter] says, with all these games back-to-back and stuff – hey, a number two starter in baseball is pretty important and that’s the way a goaltender is. (So), I don’t see how that’s possible. He’s too important to us.”

Had to make room for Kopitar's return, plus the entire top 6 is off to a sluggish start. Sutter sat Penner last night, inserting Richardson. When Kyle Clifford is the team's leading scorere - you have problems.

Ive had kopitar in my league for 4 season now. I just made a splash for doughty in the off season and managed to get them together! We are Really heavy on Dman points and PP. After seeing them in the playoffs I thought the team stepped up to the next level.

There PP is so painful to watch its not funny.

Default Kopitar

Is he usually a slow starter? Thinking of picking him up in my pool to replace an injured player but I've got a pile of other choices too... Marleau, Moulson, Benn, Elias, Zetterberg, Parenteau, all doing better than Kopi at this stage of the schedule. Is Kopi's knee OK, how does he look? Would you pick any of these guys over Kopi, pts only G/A starting Feb 2 to end of season? Thanks.

Sort of like the Kenaston pool. Pick the 25 players you think will be this years top scorers. That's about it.

WE (14 of us) each pick 25 players who we hope will be the top scorers-points only 1gl/1as. In our pool the moderator selects 10 top scorers from the past who we are not allowed to put on our rosters. Then we select from the remaining players. It's not a draft or anything. In theory all 14 franchises could have the same rosters but this never happens and when all 14 franchises do pick the same player we all have to drop him and pick someone else. We are allowed 5 trades (delete a player from our roster and add someone we don't have on our roster).

In my case, Spezza was one my original 25 picks. He is hurt so I'm dropping him. I can replace him with one of the guys listed above because I didn't pick them originally and they are not on my roster (although they might be on the roster of several other franchises).

Not very hard core, but fun and keeps up our interest in hockey. Bottom line, if I have picked and traded right and the players on my roster end up the year with the most total points I get the $$$ lol.

Looks the Kings are going to try the "Flyer" line in their next game.

Coach Darryl Sutter put Simon Gagne on a line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter in practice Sunday.
We guess that the line will be called the "Flyer Line" as the troika played in Philadelphia for five seasons. Gagne has four assists in five games this season as he has spent some time in the press box. Look for the trio to be together Monday when they take on San Jose.
