If Backstrom and Heatley can find their old form then it's pretty close. However I'd still value the Stamkos side more going forward.

overall i gotta think that backstrom, healtey and voracek dominate over stamkos.
my question is how F do you play a night? and is nightly or weekly changes. you moved stamkos and perron and got 3 guys back. i gotta guess for now perron was on the bench most nights anyway so who is healtey and voracek replacing on the starting lineup. thats one factor to look into when evaluating these trades. now if its nightly linechages then its not as much of a factor. also you still show perron in your sig.

ya its daily changes so i can use all these players. my team made it to the conference finals last year but because of the lack of depth i ended losing out by a little bit. i feel that yes i definatly gave up the best player but backstrom isnt to far behind stamkos. backstrom and heatley both had horrible years but i think 85pts and 70 pts for each respectivly isnt to much to ask for. perron hasnt even began to work out yet so he is the big if factor in this deal. if he becomes a top 6 guy again then i think i lose this deal. we start 6 forwards and 4 d nightly so i ended up traded ladd for kronwall right after to regain some depth at d. on most given nights my top 6 is now backstrom, heatley, dubinsky, selanne, ennis and either clowe or voracek which in a 16 team league is pretty deep. not the best but not the worst. if i can have one of either elliot or rundblad step in and play for me this year then all of a sudden my d is deep as well.

I wouldn't have made that trade, but as you've already seen, there are arguments back and forth. My major issues are that I don't like giving up the best player, I think you sold Myers as low as he'll ever be throughout his career, and I think that Perron would have outscored Voracek this season.
Heatley v. Perron will probably be the deciding factor... if either rounds back into form and not the other, then that may decide it. Hopefully it pays off!

lol i hope it pays off too, it was hard giving up myers but the way i break this trade down is this
stamkos>backstrom but just slightly and only because of the goal factor heatley>myers the kid is good but i see him topping out at 50pts voracek>perron even without the concussion issues and a 9th overall back to me which in turn i could use in other trades

i gotta say i am not so understanding this league. i guess others have this format but explain why you wouldnt trade all your wingers to land the top centers? with FOW and NO positions then i would perfer a 65 point center who gets your 700+ FOW over a winger who can get you 80 points in a season?
or am i missing something?

That's part of the trick with H2H, I guess - there's no bonus points awarded for winning the FOW cat by 50 in any given week, and your FOW per year only has to be so much higher than your opponents' to give you an excellent shot at winning that cat almost every week. Beyond that, if you drop goal scoring wingers to add more FOW, you're throwing cats down the drain.
In a daily change league like this, it's even more important to have a variety of player types. If you get a good lead in goals, by all means don't play any wingers and put all your C in, or vice versa. So far behind in A you're definitely going to lose it? Put in all goon wingers so at least you win PIMs, etc. For example, I took first in my H2H league this year, even though everyone kept pointing out that my team sucked. Why did they say that? Because when they scored our league roto style my team was in last or next to last all year. I think I was in the bottom half in most of the cats. Yet I had the best H2H record because I would lose some cats by a mile and win more by a hair.

This is not a standard roto H2H league like you just illustrated though. PTS are given to different cats such as G, A, PIMs, SOG, FOW...etc...etc...etc...and the the team with the most accumulated pts at the end the week wins.
You'll notice in my team that I have done just that - acquired as many C's as possible as they have the extra "bonus" cat of FOW which actually translates into quite a few pts at the end of the year. I liked this trade for both sides as I agree that Backstrom and Heater will bounce back and it also gives you added depth. I would have preferred keeping Myers myself as I think his value is quite a bit in our league. I also think you did better than our original deal which would have sent you JT/Weber for Stamkos/Shatts as this deal didn't address your need for more depth. You have a very strong squad going into next year.
