Settle a bet, if you don't mind...
My buddy thinks that Green and Hemmer are waaay too much to pay for Kane, and scoffed at the offer, but in a keeper, I honestly think I would rather keep Kane. I may be out to lunch, but here's why: Kane is money. 22 years old and a lock for elite points for many many years - he hasn't even touched his prime and already has an 88 point season under his belt. My best player, for sure, and will only get better. The kind of player you want to build around. Reasons I would NOT trade Kane for Green straight up: - Green's ever increasing band-aid boy status - Green's success seemed to be tied to the arrival of BB and the run and gun free for all of the past few years. Pretty sure that party is over, and you never know how a player will respond to a new system or coach. He may even get dealt. - Wideman, Carlson, Orlov HAVE to take a bite out of his minutes and production - simply put, while Mike Green is incredible, the environment in which he thrived is no longer there and he likely will not see 70 points again. Adding Hemsky, a guy who I have virtually NO faith in regarding playing a full season does not tip me over the edge. Back to back season ending shoulder injuries?? No thanks. Talent is there, but it is hard to score from the press box. I may be totally out to lunch here and fully expect some jabs, but I think that I would rather keep Kane then take on risky players like Green and Hemmer. Interested in your take...

You don't have to argue that with me.
You get: A - best player in the deal B - someone who's not completely plagued by injuries, for two guys creeping/racing their way up to the top of the Band-Aid Boy list

Well IMO this just runs along the same theme as a lot of trades lately and it's all about risk tolerance.
You're definitely getting enough value to warrant the trade (IMO) but you would have to put up with a lot of headaches as you're receiving two guys that are going to guaranteed spend time on the shelf. But as always, if hemsky somehow manages to stay healthy and produce at a 0.9 ppg clip and green returns to 60 then you're gonna regret not doing it. I can see the guy on the other sides point of view that he's overpaying because he already owns the two guys. If you can handle the risk, then go for it, but if not then hold Kane. |

I'd take Green over Kane each and every day of the week. Hell I'd take Green over Kane and Hemsky.
Risky? Yea, but who cares. Give me a d-man with the potential to hit point per game over Kane any day, even with injury worries. |

id take the green side. you could pprobably pick up a free agent to who gets within 15 points of kane but you wont find a defence within 15 points of green unless he is hurt.so there is more risk but i would take that risk as hemsky could even keep up with kane if he had a good season(probably not though). higher risk but way higher reward.
give me the green side anytime..

HE"S TRYING TO TRADE ME!
My thoughts: Loco is having "an episode". Get the jacket. WHY: Defenceman goals count for 3 pts!!! in our league. A goal scoring defenceman is HUGE. Even if he doesn't hit 70 real points. In our league he has been a 120 pt player. FOR a defenceman. He was/is in the top 5 guys to own in our league only 1 yr ago. Traditionally he has been 20-30 pts better than the next defenceman. Kane was tied for 25th best forward this year in our league. Still good BUT...............not for Green and Hemsky. Loco...enjoy your rubber room. LOL

I also didn't see the 3 points per goal for D. Still, however, I still would not be thrilled about getting Green right now, even if his value has never been lower.
