Default Thoughts on this offer?

Hey guys,

This came my way and I was intrigued.....

My OV and Yandle for both Sedins and Kaberle.

Positions count - count G, A, PIM, SOGs and +/-

Thoughts?

I'd have to know your league and roster sizes to be sure, but my thought is no. OV's value in leagues with sog is even higher than normal, and Yandle's addition to your team relative to Kaberle is probably close to or not more than the benefit of Henrik over whatever C he's displacing, and that means this deal's not good for you even if you assume that Daniel and Ovechkin are equivalent.

I think this depends on how close you are to contending in your league and who you will have to drop to make room for one of the Twins.

You have to consider that OV & Yandle are all under 25, they haven't probably hit their peak yet. The Sedins and Kaberle have a maximum of 5 good year of hockey in them I think but OV & YAndle probably have 10-15 years of elite hockey in them... I think that if you are a serious contender in your league and this is a good deal for you.

This would be looking a bit beyond the commonly recommended 3 year time horizon...

I agree! Wich makes the Sedin offer a better one IMO depending on who he will be dropping.

Kaberle is no slouch either

I actually think the trade is fairly even.
High-scoring defenseman are tougher to acquire than centers.

A lot of this depends on Kaberle.
In a 16-team league, starting 6 defensemen... Kaberle has some real value.
In a 12-team league, starting 4 defensemen... Kaberle has little value.

Without knowing more - I prefer the Ovechkin-Yandle side.

This is a 16 team 40 man league so having 1 100 point player let alone 2 100 point players on your roster is very difficult if not impossible. My next best players are Briere and Eriksson.

He's upped his offer to Weber instead of Kaberle so I'm starting to think yes vs. no

The Sedins combined production on forward will certainly be significantly greater that OV alone over the next 3 years. Yandle could potentially out point Weber by 10-15 but Weber shoots alot and gets plenty of PIMS

PS. I do not have to drop anyone of significance as this is a full keeper.

Do people still think I should hold on to OV and Yandle?

The difference a little bit of info makes...
Yes - I love the Sedin/Sedin/Weber side.

1. Yandle vs. Weber is practically a wash.
Weber will get 50 more SOG. 250/200 = +25% in one cat.
Yandle will get 10 more assists. 50/40 = +25% in one cat.
All else (G,PIM,+/-) is a wash.

2. TWO Sedins vs. Ovechkin.
No contest.

I'm all over the Sedin/Sedin/Weber side in a deep league.
(You say "40 man", so I'm assuming you start 20-25 nightly.)
