Default Biggest Leap in Production for 2007-08??

Every year you have those special players that fly under the radar or guys who have promise but just haven\'t shown it yet. And then the next year BOOM, they have arrived and by that time you are too late because everyone knows about him already. Here is a few examples:

E.Staal 2003-04 31 points 2005-06 100 points
Vanek 2005-06 48 points 2006-07 84 points
Spezza 2003-04 55 points 2005-06 90 points
Cammaleri 05-06 55 points 2006-07 80 points

I realize for some guys (cheechoo) it all depends on who you play with. It seemed this kid didn\'t get his confidence until Joe was feeding him the puck. Alot has to do with age and contract status. I just want to know who in the next few years will make the jump like these guys?

Who is the next \"mediocre\" player to become a fantasy stud??

Some favorites of mine that I think will break out or recover. Excluding guys who didn\'t play near-to-full seasons.

Forwards, a far from exclusive list of those I think will hit +25:

1. Scotty Upshall scored 16 this season, could hit 60 next season (+44)
2. Gaborik stays healthy, his 57 could become 100 (+43).
3. Bochenski scored 24, 65 seems very attainable (+41)
4. Brule could break out and hit 50, from 19 (+31)
5. Staal could hit 100 again, from 70 (+30)
6. Svatos could rebound and hit 60, from 30 (+30)
7. Crosby could make the next step, from 120 to 150 (+30)
8. Kovalchuk gets a center, rebounds from 76 to 105 (+29)
9. Alex Radulov scored 37, I could see him breaking 65 (+28)
10. Ovechkin, with a center, will be crazy. 92 becomes 120 (+28)
11. Marcel Hossa could break out from 18 and hit 45 (+27)

Three defensemen that come to mind:

1. Keith Ballard should bounce back from 27, could hit 50 (+23)
2. Tyutin may be ready to hit 35, up from a dismal 14 (+21)
3. I think Bergeron could break 60, up from 46 (+14)

Repent, what do you think Getzlaf will do? I have him on my team and he is on my bubble of guys I can keep. On one hand I don\'t want to let him go, but on the other, who do I drop?

Radulov
Briere
Hemsky
H Sedin
Cammaleri
Visnovski
Ju Williams
T Kaberle

Those are my keeper 8 right now and my bubble players are:

Getzlaf
Nagy
Drury
Turco

1 point for goal or assist, goalies get two for a win, an extra 3 for a shutout.

Based on your list, I would let Williams and Hemsky go and keep Getzlaf and Turco.

I think that Hemsky will improve next season.

For defensemen, Paul Mara might be one to consider.

that\'s a tough decision. If you forced me to pick from those 4, I would drop Nagy and Turco. Nagy just doesn\'t seem to have the will to play to his potential, and while I like Turco, he\'s slowly starting to fade, and I wouldn\'t consider him a long term option. But that depends on who your other goalies are.

Conservatively, I think Getlzaf could be looking at a 75 point season next year.

Williams is going to score 40 goals, I am surprised he didn\'t do it this year.
