Default jamaal charles

I get the feeling Jamaal Charles could be the most over hyped player in the NFL. Anyone can see that he has some speed and shiftiness to his game, but his lack of consistency, recent injurues and the KC Chiefs persistence in coupling him with another back who has shown flashes of having the ability to play a power-move the pile-short yardage- goal line role is the reason why he may never reach his ceiling.

It could be that he takes a Reggie bush like move and ends up in another city in order to get a chance to show everyone that he could do it all and be successful, but I doubt that happens anytime soon. With how short a runningback's career is you can almost say his career is half way through, and he hasn't justified his fantasy worth yet.

Maybe its just me but there is a sense that Payton hillis is going to steel the thunder to Charles's lightning.

Would love to read what other people think about it, and if anyone can share who they think is the most over hyped player. If you support your thoughts with justifications this could make for a very nice thread.

The Cold Hard Truth!

Default Love it

I love the thread idea, and I agree with you just don't care for Jamaal at all - he COULD be worth his draft spot but why take the risk?

I'll throw in a few more names to the over-hype fodder list:

1. Steven Jackson - age and use
2. Gore - age and use
3. Tim Hightower - has he ever been productive? And injuries too? Why would anyone like him as a player?

I always believed Gore was notoriously over-hyped each and every off-season. Jackson as well, but mostly due to the injury issues, as opposed to any talent concerns.

And Corv, as a Hillis owner, I hope you are correct in your supposition!

Well I hope I am right as well. I'm going to try and draft hillis in my league. Its just a matter of what round because we all know that he isn't the most healthiest runningback either.

It doesn't just have to be a runningback.

I'd like to add Sidney Rice
One good year with the great favre as his quarter back and nothing else but inconsistency and injuries.

Good point.

I'll say he showed/flashed good enough to make me want to believe he could be a futurestar.
