Hi guys,
I'm debating what to do this summer. I won last year, and since we can only keep 7 players, I dealt Kovalchuk, Spezza and Doughty for Stamkos. My current "for sure" keepers are: Stamkos, Backstrom, Tavares, Karlsson, Seguin (<200gp) I also have Rinne, Neal, and Rask (<200gp). I'm considering just keeping Neal and Rask and drafting another goalie the 1st round. I cannot keep both Neal and Rinne, and I have 2 first rounders. Another option is packaging Neal and Rask for a good young F/D under 200gp. One thing I've been considering is dealing both Rinne and Neal for either a forward upgrade or a goalie upgrade, like the deal listed in the title. There are only 1-2 teams that need a goalie, so my options are limited to get a scoring forward. We're moving to a head-to-head, weekly line-up format, which means only one goalie can start per week. What would you guys do in this situation??? Thanks a tonne.

Seing that your league protects 5 players + 2 farm, I would make that deal for Lundy but I would push for a draft pick as well. Lundy for Neal and Rinne seems to be on overpayment on your part.

Keep Rinne and Neal because Lundy is not an upgrade over Rinne in your league who count only W and SO Rinne will always play 10 more GP than Lundy last year Rinne 43W and 5SO Lundy 39W and 8SO. They will be pretty equal in the future.
I will try to pick Rask whit one of your 1st draft pick I think he will easier to get him instead of Rinne.

The only problem is that I can only keep Rinne or Neal because my other 5 keeper vets are set. I think I may have to package Neal and Rask to get a young stud under 200gp or something. Otherwise, I may drop Rinne and roll with Rask (as he will be under 200gp for the next two years).

I understand trying to consolidate talent to your top seven, but you might be sacrificing great talent and getting almost no return. If I'm in your position, which I am in my current league (check my sig), I'm trying to sell someone for high draft picks so I can bolster my depth next season.
Obviously in limited keepers, the clock is kind of reset when the non-keepers return to the draft pool. It's going to be really hard for you to improve your keepers at this point because you are so stacked. The only way to cash in on your excess talent right now is to convert it to depth next season in the form of draft picks. Either way, it's a good situation. I'd probably keep both goalies as they are good ones and that may be the toughest spot to fill through redrafting. At the same time, Neal is improving and sitting pretty with Malkin (or some guy named Crosby if that falls through). I can't decide, but I'd choose ONE, JUST ONE player and move him for as many draft picks as you can. You should be able to shop him around to just about any team you want. Basically, you need to make it clear to the other owners that this guy (whoever you choose) will not be available in the redraft, they either buy him with draft picks before the draft or go with Plan B, which probably isn't anywhere near Neal/Backstrom/Tavares/Seguin/Karlsson. You have all the cards my friend, I would talk to every single owner that has less than 7 great keeper options, which should be just about all of them.
