I am enjoying the hell outta a very fine bottle of Trappistes Rochefort #6. Fine amber color yet lighter in taste than most amber ales that I've had in the past. Not overly hoppy and not as heavy on the clove as other Belgians.

Smooth crisp and i believe some vanilla??? Overall very enjoyable.

I'll have to try the one I have in the fridge tonight Bomm. I'll give my review on it. Though I doubt I'll go into as much detail regarding flavors. I just go, I like, and sometimes I have some good ideas of what it taste like. Usually the trappist ales have so much going on I can hardly pin down the flavors I'm tasting. That's part of their allure to me.

My first so I may have over indulged on the summary...lol...just kinda took me for a loop that a beer could have so much going on yet still be so damn tasty!

I agree on the Trappistes Rochefort #6. I've had quite a few Belgian style ales and I was expecting similar from this one. However, its got a lot more subtlety and finesse than the others. Almost all of the other Trappist beer I've had was all in your face, but the Trappistes Rochefort #6 was a polite whisper in comparison. Not overpowering, but still a brew of the highest order. Highly recommend.

I'm drinking the number 6 and so far it's really smooth and easier to handle than the 8 and 10 was. Tastes less like alcohol and just has a better mixture of flavors. I really like this one.

Just to make sure, mine has all these dark flakes floating inside. I'm assuming that's normal with trappist as I seem to remember that from before.

Well, if you find Guttmann somewhere I'll pay you for it. Probably the best beer I've ever had.

My favorite go-to-beers are Bass, London Pride, I'll say because I haven't had it in forever Pete's Wicked Ale.
