Rundblad will be a special player.
A great analysis here http://forums.dobbersports.com/showt...light=Rundblad Smart move by phoenix to take him regardless of the fact that they already have Yandle and OEL. I think Rundblad will become a more valuable asset than Turris in a few years which gives them trade options down the road.

His upside definitely decreased in my eyes once I saw him play last season in the NHL. Nobody hyped him more than I did, but once he finally came over, he was by far the worst d-man on the ice and never really knew what to do. Normal for a Swedish rookie though, but it was bad. Way worse than Karlsson ever was. On offense, he made some very nice passes, but his rushes did not work and his moves did not work as they did in Sweden due to less time and space. I can't even remember him taking many shots. He was also the worst d-man on his AHL team. But hey, like I said, it was his first year.
I think he has the ability to become a pretty good PP QB still, but it will take some time. I always held the belief that he would be nowhere near as good as Karlsson or a Letang type player because he was not as dynamic a skater. A 40 point season down the line might not be out of the question though if he improves his game. I see his upside as more of a Mike Green, not the balls to the wall Mike Green, but the Mike Green of the past couple of years. More like a #3-#4 d-man with top PP duties. The projections of Rundblad's upside being 70 points (by you know who) were just nuts. I do not like his current situation as Tippet will not give him the minutes necessary for him to learn the defensive game at the NHL level. They will develop him in the AHL, and who knows if he goes back to Sweden once his deal is done at the end of the year and he still isn't an NHL regular. |

If your in a league where you can store him on a farm/prospect team he'd be great. He's only played 30 NHL games. I wouldn't use a keeper spot on him in standard leagues that's for sure.

I traded him out last week as part of a deal to land me the #2 draft pick this year. Hated letting him go as I was prepared to sit on him for a while till he matures, but at this point he's at the bottom of my defensve prospects group and one of the high end forward prospects helps me more
