I didn't think my team would be rolling in 11/12. Is it too early to panic? Is my team not as great as I thought it? What guys should I be cutting for hot bats/pitchers right now?
Team and league is in the sig.

Well, I'm not going to lie to you, you have a lot of holes.
Crawfords injury really decimated your OF. So you need an OF. I'd normally say move Miggy to 3b and find a 1b, but you are so lacking power that you may need to hang onto Reynolds. If I were you, I'd really try to acquire an upgrade in the OF and you definitely need a closer. Your SP is fine. If you could maybe (sigh) trade Miggy to upgrade at 1b and ss.. youd be in much better shape because you can find an OF out there.

Do NOT trade Cabrera in a keep 6 league, unless you're getting a massive massive overpayment. I'm talking a top-10 player AND another star. Keep him. You can address your issues in another way. When you only keep 6 guys, Cabrera is incredibly valuable.

IMO, you may be able to improve your position just by taking advantage of roster allocations.
For example, you list 7 outfielders... but how many can you start? I would probably: 1a) Drop Belt, Carpenter, and Boesch. Maybe even Reynolds. 1b) If you drop Reynolds, move Miggy to 3B... move Trumbo to 1B. 2) Use these three drops to ADD pitchers. I'd go after relievers that qualifty as SP/RP and who are getting HOLDS and have a good K/9. For example, maybe you have 5 SP slots... but on any given day, you probably have 1 or 2 (maybe 3) guys pitching. So you put B.Myers in a SP spot... maybe you can find another guy on the wire. This increases the number of relievers playing for you on any day. It gives you a better chance to get more HOLDS, SAVES, K. I have Brett Myers (SP/RP), Aceves (SP/RP), Ogando (SP/RP) and guys like Wade Davis (SP/RP), Phil Coke (SP/RP), or James Russell (SP/RP). I put relievers in any open SP slot because they might pitch. I'm amazed by the lack of people doing this (putting relievers in SP slots). So many people just leave 5 SP in 5 SP slots... even when the SP aren't playing. |
