A guy in my league just posted that he is looking for an elite 3rd baseman. I have beltre, gamel, trumbo and I'm wondering thoughts on offering him beltre and jeff nieman sp for dan uggla and helikson. I've got cano but uggla would make a great dh and hellikson is much better than nieman right? Thoughts...

I'd want better than Uggla and Hellickson; you'd be taking a big hit at 3rd to upgrade your DH. I'm not as big on Hellickson as some so maybe I'm biased against the deal for that reason too.You could present him your 3rd base options and see who he'd pony up for Beltre on his own, or maybe he'd settle for a lesser deal for a non-elite 3rd basemen.I wouldn't want to give up the best player in the deal for positions you don't have a big need for or aren't sure you'd be winning the deal.

I wouldn't for 2 reasons.
Why put a .260 hitter i your UT? Hellickson is overrated, not worth trading Beltre, you're not upgrading a lot. |

I'd have a hard time moving any top-10 3B and Beltre is one of my favorites. Texas is a great place for him to be and he's not leaving anytime soon.
