Valid point, but to be honest, I see more upside in a Hanley/Justin Upton combo vs Tulo/Hamilton in terms of overall numbers. Hamilton is also kind of an inigma; based on the info I have on my spreadsheet, Hamilton is starting to show some small chinks in the armor as well. Combined with the whole "relapse" thing (I'm using this term very loosely), there's just too many question marks with this risk.

it is a very interesting comparison. kind of comes down to TT vs. Upton ( two young blue-chippers), and hram vs. hamilton ( two extreme high risk/ high reward ). In my drafts, 15 team mixed, TT is a top five pick. hram is an early two, hamilton a late two, and upton all over rd 1; anywhere from 7 to 14. when it is this close, i tend to simply go with the best talent. i wouldn't trade tulo.

Tulo is the best player here, but you are getting the #2 SS back. I have no doubt that Hanley will keep his SS eligibility. Reyes wont play 150 games.
I would take TT top 5, and Hanley 10th-15th. I'd MUCH rather Upton than Hamilton. Upton is a top 10 pick in a keeper league imo, and Hamilton is on the decline to late 2nd round, possibly 3rd round. Its a balanced trade, as Hanley is currently undervalued, Hamilton is undervalued if you don't think theres much risk associated with him, TT is the best involved and Upton is going to be the highest climber. I personally wouldnt move TT - too dominant at his position. But the upgrade from Hamilton to Upton vs the downgrade from TT to Hanley might be worth it. |

Ozzie has said if Reyes is hurt, Hanley will stay at 3B.
Hanley imo, is the worst player of the 4. He's just not the same guy he was 2 years ago. |
