I don't need a 2B but this was offered to me and I think it puts me in a better position to make other trades to round out my roster. What I'm thinking is Utley might be out for a while and really suck when he comes back. We only have one DL spot and I'd rather not have to park Utley there if I don't have to. Anyway...I'm just not sure if I'm getting enough value for Utley or not in Espinosa....also what are the chances Espinosa moves to SS and gets eligibilty there, that might help?

You will never play Espinosa as long as Pedroia and/or Uggla are healthy.

Do not do this deal. Utley has more value as a lottery ticket than a guy you will likely never use.

I would package Utley with one of your SP and upgrade your SP - for a 12 team league, I think you could use improvement there or in SB.

espinosa has value as a possible 20/20 player... his issue is a weak batting average and a poor obp. if desmond gets moved then he will move to ss since lombardozzi is a passable 2nd and a piss poor ss whereas espinosa came up as a ss, and can play there competently.

Personally i think utley has more value as a lottery ticket or guy to trade as the rumors of his return heat up. Someone will pay big for a large upgrade. i acutally did that with utley last year since he is always hurt now.
