Default Trade Help

Offer is I give J. Weeks, Teheran, and Pomeranz 4 Josh Johnson & J. De La Rosa(or Jesse Crain, D. Betances, or scott Downs but I'd rather have De La Rosa).

It's a 20 team Dynasty (in signature) so I know losing those guys is tough but I'm not counting on either of them to start for me this season. Weeks would be in a utility spot for me but I could fill it with Belt, Furcal, or LaHair and be fine.

What do you guys think? Am I giving up too much? Johnson's injury risk scares me but when healthy he's a beast! Thoughts?

WHIR!!!

Side note, this deal could also lead me to a Verlander for Kemp trade. Having a healthy Johnson would make it a lot easier to move Verlander. Thanks in advance!

I would not do that deal. Julio Teheran and Drew Pomeranz are two of the top pitching prospects in the minors. Both should break into their respective team's rotations very soon (possibly this season). Weeks is a very solid second baseman.

Josh Johnson is extremely talented, but he's hit the disabled list four times in the past five years. I'm staying away from him, as is too much of an injury risk for me. Jorge De La Rosa is coming off Tommy John surgery. He showed some strides last season in Colorado, but then the elbow injury struck. At the end of the day, he's a soon-to-be 31-year-old pitcher coming off a major injury that has a career ERA of 4.90. He has some value in a deep league like yours, but I'm not the biggest fan.

I understand your thought process here, wanting to replace Justin Verlander with another high-end pitcher and landing an elite bat like Matt Kemp. I have no problem with you trading your young guys for immediate help, but they have a ton of potential and the guys you are getting in return are pretty serious injury risks.

i agree with schmidt. johnson's too much of a risk to take on, especially when youve already got peavy and carpenter in your rotation. verlander's a rock; you need to build around him.

This is just a little too much risk to take on, however I'd still be very tempted to try and work out a deal still.

Think I'd do that Kemp for Verlander deal regardless and try to work out a deal using perhaps Weeks and one of Pomeranz or Teheran for an ace.

As much as I like Verlander, you're really selling high on the 2.40 ERA and wins and think you can get a similar pitcher that can give you a 3'ish ERA with nice peripherals.

Just my two cents.

If you can get him to take Matusz, instead of Teheran or Pomeranz, i would do that.

JJ is more of a sure thing to me, then rookie SP at this point.
