I have them both. With Petitte signing...who is going to be in the rotation? is it even close?
I've been offered a good closer for Nova, tempted to roll the dice and take it...but wouldn't mind having a yankee pitcher.

I have loads of starters and my two closers now are Marmol and Nathan.

Nova, not close in my opinion. Hughes is a former big time prospect that just couldn't translate his minor league success to the majors. I think he's better off in the bullpen, I like him as a setup man.

i would make the deal and take the closer. nova's peripherals are scary. i don't think he comes close to earning what he did last season. i could see nova losing his rotation spot within the first couple months.

i'm not enthusiastic about marmol or nathan, so getting another closer makes a lot of sense. unless the closer is soria

at the right price point ( next to nothing ), hughes is worth a roster spot strictly as speculation. he WAS a great prospect, and has had a couple productive seasons. he says he is over his shoulder woes...but do we trust him? if he isn't bringing big heat ( >94 ), the homer-happy stadium will make hughes un-rosterable.

They're already talked about dealing Hughes (and how difficult it might be). I don't like Nova much, but my money would be on him.

Which closer have you been offered? It's probably worth it. Nathan worries me and it's not like you don't have the starting rotation to give up Nova
