Why don\'t we just have a hockey draft next season. Everyone who is interested pays $10. you pick 3 fwds, 2 d men and a goalie and you have them for the year. No changes. Winner take half and the other half goes to Dobber\'s kids Trust fund\'s??? Maybe you can flip Burnsy $20 bucks to buy some suntan lotion from all the red lights that have been turned on behind his head over the years.

This is a 24-team full keeper league. The scoring does not penalize for strikeouts. Who do you take? Would anyone care to offer statistical projections for these players for 2012?

lind; only power lefty in a mostly power rh line-up. has a superstar hitting ahead of him...i like him to rebound from last season and produce 31 73 94 1 .266

belt; hitting at the bottom end of a top-heavy line-up. should work his way up by may/june, maybe the five-hole...23 71 76 8 259

goldschmidt; toughest to project because of the sky-high k-rate. will start in the bottom third of a stacked line-up. 31 76 87 12 254

if you feel like gambling, goldschmidt. if not, lind.

id go goldschmidt, based solely on how the giants jerked belt around with promotions and demotions, whereas PG came up and stuck.

additionally, as much attention as goldschmidt's K% gets, his 29.9% in the majors last year wasnt much higher than belt's 27.3% with the giants. and the proximity extends to the minors as well.

I would have gone with Adam Lind, but I understand the upside pick with Goldschmidt.

Yeah, it was a tough call. But did you see what Bill James projected for Goldschmidt in 2012? .266/.367/.516 with 32 homers and 99 RBIs! Perhaps the sage, old Mr. James has lost his mind, but I'd settle for 25 homers 85 RBIs and a .250 average for Goldschmidt in his first full year.

That's an awfully generous projection (by Billl James). He's a pure masher, and will be a sleeper this year. Essentially he's Ryan Howard, but you can get him rounds later.
