Hey Guys,
first time poster, long time reader. Anyways my full keeper league draft is in the next couple of days and I have 3rd overall pick. As of right now im pretty sure both Heyward and Chapman will fall to me and was wondering which one id be better off selecting. I have been thinking about this for a while now and originally i thought id be better off taking Heyward because of his solid play but then I started thinking about my pitching situation and how it could use some help. What are your thoughts on both of these guys and which do you think id be better off selecting. Im still rebuilding and wont compete this year so I have time. Or if not these guys are there any other prospects maybe worth taking and who arent Stephen Strasburg Im in a 10 team full keeper yahoo league. Thanks in advance for the help! |

Hey Expos welcome to the board..
First off, in my opinion more times than not I would always select the premier stud bat before I select a pitcher. The odds are so much in favor of the batter making it and the pitcher either getting hurt or just not developing as touted. I would take Heyward over Chapman. |

Agreed... It seems as if Hayward is as sure as they come. How long it takes him to get there is up for debate, but if you have time to spare I don't think many will argue that he'll be a stud in the league for a long time.
I find pitchers are really really risky as rookies... May it be health or phycological issues, theres many more 'X' factors that can turn a great pitching prospect into a dud.

Heyward Heyward Heyward. Chapman looks like he's the real deal, and the only thing stopping him are control issues. Much easier to revamp your pitching staff then it is to get a stud bat.

yeah, it's definitely Heyward. great pitching arms fall apart all the time and i'd take a projected great hitter nearly every time. on top of that, Heyward is just the better prospect.
