11 keepers + 2 prospect keepers.
I've had a pretty weak team for the past 2 seasons, im expecting to not make the playoffs this year, though it's possible. Prospects (pick 2): Scherzer Tommy Hunter Carlos González Alcides Escobar Keep 11 of the following (or extra of above prospects) Pitchers: Felix Hernandez Jon Lester Ricky Nolasco Josh Beckett Chad Billingsley John Danks Scott Baker Shaun Marcum --- RP ---- Brian Fuentes JP Howell Batters: Carlos Quentin Victor Martinez Bobby Abeu Rabinson Cano Carlos Pena Alex Rios Aramis Ramirez Corey Hart Torii Hunter Jermaine Dye Vernon Wells Aubrey Huff Is Vernon Wells going to turn it around? The league is mostly Jays fans, so their worth a bit more. |

Pitchers - Felix, Lester, Nolasco, Beckett, Billingsley, Baker
Batters - VMart, Cano, Abreu, Aramis I'm not ready to trust Marcum and Wells has a lot of ground to make up (though he is batting 4th behind Hill and Lind), but being in league of Jays fans, maybe you can package them for an offensive upgrade to be your 11th keeper. If not, I'd probably go with Torii Hunter. Quentin could be in for a great year, but his injury worries might scare people away, meaning you could get him back on draft day. I'd probably go with CarGo and Escobar as my prospects to begin with, but because you've got such a solid rotation the decision is that much easier. Plus, I feel like it's only a matter of time before Scherzer's recurring shoulder woes (soreness, etc) land him on the DL, and Tommy Hunter is dealing with a ribcage injury. |

Carlos Gonzalez and Alcides Escobar for your prospects
Felix Hernandez Jon Lester Ricky Nolasco Josh Beckett Chad Billingsley Scott Baker Victor Martinez Rabinson Cano Torii Hunter Aramis Ramirez Similar to Snyder, but I prefer the added boost in HR rather then SB. Could go either way. |

thanks so far, got a couple Qs.
Scott Baker kept over Scherzer? Dob rankings show Scherzer way above him. Last year I came in 5th of 10 (6 make playoffs). If I'm able to push for a playoff spot again, do Abreu/Pena have more value? Would you both advise against finding a way to keep Pena? Does he have that little trade value now? |

I personally like Baker better, but there's no doubt that Scherzer's stuff is more nasty. The only thing Scherzer needs to do is be efficient with his pitches.
