Default ERvin Santana

Can anyone give me some opinions on this guy...predictions for this year. I have an opportunity to trade him for Lance Berkman...who would be a bench player mostlikely.
ERvin is 2nd in the rotation...2 yrs ago 217k's and low walks...does he have that in him still???? he gets drafted real late in most leagues now...why? besides the injury thing last year.

thanks for your opinions

He'll miss some starts, he wont stay healthy for the full season...

I would sorta peg him around 10-12 wins, 4.50 ERA, He will have his good moments but also cause frusteration to his owners as I mention, he'll find ways to miss starts, nagging injuries etc.

He had a pretty nice 2nd half last year. I wouldn't put it past him to finally put it together for a full year.

Santana is a candidate to bounce back. Not sure if he's regained his velocity on his fastball or not, but appeared to rely on it too often. He did finish the second half strong last year and the control issues he did have seem to have disappeared. He won't go back to striking almost 9 batters a game, but numbers in the high 7's to low 8's is a reasonable expectation.

If Berkman's only going to be a backup for you, probably better off holding on to Santana.

Yeah Berkman would be a backup but also could be my Utility player. Ervin is my latest pick that I could trade for berkman...pavano and hammel I picked off waiver wire so not offering them. The guy desperately needs pitching and is willing to DROP berkman.
