So long-term, what should we expect from this young Lightning prospect??
Would you rather own him over guys like Adam? Dalpe?

I also own Conacher and would really like to know his value. What production could we expect at the NHL level and what is his trade value now?
AHL MVP, he value must be up there with all the other good prospects right? Will we see him next season? |

While winning the AHL MVP is impressive, looking at the list of past winners from the last 10 years it doesnt mean that he will definitely be a success in the NHL. Spezza is the only one in the last 10 years that has turned into a legit NHL star.
2011-12 Cory Conacher Norfolk Admirals 2010-11 Corey Locke Binghamton Senators 2009-10 Keith Aucoin Hershey Bears 2008-09 Alexandre Giroux Hershey Bears 2007-08 Jason Krog Chicago Wolves 2006-07 Darren Haydar Chicago Wolves 2005-06 Donald MacLean Grand Rapids Griffins 2004-05 Jason Spezza Binghamton Senators 2003-04 Jason LaBarbera Hartford Wolf Pack 2002-03 Jason Ward Hamilton Bulldogs 2001-02 Eric Boguniecki Worcester IceCats He also won rookie of the year, and below is the list of the past 10 winners. Again not exactly a harbinger of future NHL success. 2011-12 Cory Conacher Norfolk Admirals 2010-11 Luke Adam Portland Pirates 2009-10 Tyler Ennis Portland Pirates 2008-09 Nathan Gerbe Portland Pirates 2007-08 Teddy Purcell Manchester Monarchs 2006-07 Brett Sterling Chicago Wolves 2005-06 Patrick O'Sullivan Houston Aeros 2004-05 Rene Bourque Norfolk Admirals 2003-04 Wade Dubielewicz Bridgeport Sound Tigers 2002-03 Darren Haydar Milwaukee Admirals 2001-02 Tyler Arnason Norfolk Admirals Anyways my point is that winning these awards does not guarantee this kid a roster spot with the lightning or make him a lock for future NHL success, nevertheless he is an interesting prospect and I will keep a close eye on what the lightning do with him in the fall.

He's a high risk/reward pick due to his size and the fact that the Bolts have a solid top 6 going forward. He's not likely to succeed in a third or fourth line role, so it's not exactly easy to predict.

I think the most important detail about that MVP award is that he won it as a rookie.
