Season almost over (lost in the semifinal, will likely end up third) and fairly shortly our league will have the roster limits enforced and everyone taken off IR. I could use some help deciding who to drop. I need to drop three guys for sure, probably four (I have a roster exemption for Joacim Eriksson because he doesn't belong to an NHL team right now, but if he signs, that exemption goes away) and blabla yada yada you know the deal.
12 team full dynasty with a 25 player roster and a full 25 player farm with no games played limitations. Yeah, lots of room, but depth is proving to be crucial for contenders, especially now that injuries seem to be more common. We use 20 categories. G, A, Pts, +/-, PIM, PPG, PPA, SHG, SHA, GWG, FOW, Hits, BLK gets us 13 skater categories and for goalies we have GS, W, SV, GA, GAA, SV%, SO for 7 categories. Centers: (12) Kopitar, Spezza, Backstrom, Stepan, Little, Bolland, Laich, McDonald, Mueller, Adam, C.Smith, Nyquist Leftwingers: (10) Ladd, Clowe, Cammalleri, McGinn, Steen, Morin, Puempel, Bourque, Conacher, Silfverberg Rightwingers: (11) P.Kane, Doan, Pominville, Stafford, Downie, Lupul, Gionta, Rattie, Gallagher, Stone, Petersson Dmen: (11)Suter, Phaneuf, Carlson, Seabrook, Garrison, McBain, Letang, Green, J.Schultz, Hamilton, Meszaros Goalies: (9)Bryzgalov, Halak, Varlamov, Neuvirth, Holtby, Bachman, Pickard, Andersen, Lack, (Eriksson) This is on ESPN so some of these guys have dual eligibility, but I'm not going to bank on that next season as they've been a bit random about it this year. The way I look at it the main contenders to get cut are: Adam, C.Smith, Morin, Puempel, Gionta, Petersson, McBain, Mueller Gionta has been declining and with all of my upcoming guys and the fact that I haven't been using him in recent years even when he's been healthy, I feel that it's his time to go. McBain has promise, but I have Hamilton and Schultz with more promise and McBain just gets assists and a few blocked shots. No hits, no PIM, nothing. After that I think I should drop Adam because he completely fizzled and I have a boatload of centers. The fourth spot is up in the air. I'm leaning towards one of Morin or Puempel. I want to see what Craig Smith can do and Andre Petersson is a dark horse I really like in Ottawa going forward. What do you think? Goalies come with such a high premium in our league and I like all my guys, so they're staying. Needless to say, my main priority this offseason will be improving my left wing. Any and all responses are appreciated

I'd probably keep Morin instead of Puempel. I think Puempel is probably more talented but Morin is closer and despite his injury risks, all those hits and PIM are hard to give up.

C Smith: Depth issues in NSH. Weird to say that. But yes, NSH has depth!! SOGs +, good upside
L Adam: Good early in the season. Arrival of Hodgson and Ennis healthy again hurts his value. Uncertain where he will be at depth on C. If Roy moves, Adam gets a shot again. Morin & Puempel & Petersson: potential, unproven. McBain: Quality young offensive dman w/ potential. Trade bait? Mueller: Talented but fragile. Trade bait once healthy..and trade quickly! Gionta: Veteran. Freak injury. Good for 40ish pts? SOGs ++ I can see why you'd want to drop Gionta. Keep Mueller, McBain, C Smith, L Adam. They are stuck on your depth chart but these guys are good trade bait when its time to upgrade your LW (as your primary focus this offseason). They have established some value this season. Morin, Puempel, Petersson: You see potential w/ them. But 2 or all has to go in favour of capitalizing on future off season moves w/ the players above. My choices: Gionta, Morin, Puempel and/or Petersson
