Not sure if i should start Niemi tonight(wednesday) or not. Ward posted an absolutely huge huge SO for me tonight, especially since the other guy had Elliott. Do i risk starting niemi and killing my goalie cats halfway thru teh week? Or do i take the chance, and hope he can build on his solid last play last game against the avs? Cats are w, gaa, svs, sv%, so. There is a minimum of 3 game appearances, i have plenty games left this week. I'm just trying to be very careful about who i play on what nights, since this is the finals. The other guy has kipper and bryz. Kipper has been inconsistent which will help me and bryz is hurt...lots t take into consideration as far as how to use my goalie games this week. Which are very favorable i noticed with me having halak, theodore, ward and niemi. Any help would be great.

If you played Niemi on Monday then your stats should be pretty spectacular right now.

On the flip side, if he played Kipper, sure he got a win but he still allowed four goals.

If both those scenarios are true then I would roll with Niemi. Who knows if Halak will even start now with Elliott turning into Brian Boucher.

Well i seen that hitchcock said halak is a definite to start on thursday. I didnt have niemi for yesterdays win, i picked him up off the wire last night. So do i sit niemi and have perfect goalie stats, due to wards SO tonight, and wait til thursday(which btw i will be able to roll at least 2 starters, and the other guy wont have any starters) or do i take the chance on niemi tomorow that he can repeat mondays performance? Btw, he did play kipper and brz, which helped me immensly, 8 goals against.

I think i have decided to sit niemi. he hasnt done well against the ducks this year, and if i start him and he craps the bed, i wont have much a chance going forward. plus, i still have like 6 or 8 goalie games the rest of thsi week with some good matchups. i'm just trying to play it smart. i will have theo against minny tomorow(good matchup) and halak against the 'hawks, which could go either way. knowing my luck niemi will do good, but i cant risk starting him and having him blow up my goalie cats. its a no win situation...arggg :-(

The Ducks are the team as a Sharks fan I fear the most. Sharks usually stink it up against them. Sure they play well, but usually seem to find a way to lose. I'm not sold on Niemi right now. So not sure what to tell you. I'd probably sit him. I'm starting Hiller tonight though. lol

Yea, i'm definitely thinking of sitting him. i'm just not prepared to take this kind of a risk. having ward get that SO last night was monumental!! had he not gotten that SO i probably would start niemi...as u say the ducks always handle the sharks it seems. niemi is jekyll and hyde, its just not a risk i wanna take, and considering i have so many goalie games left this, really an unnecesary start.
