In a keeper league that just counts points and PIM (full point system in sig) how would you rank these defense men next year and future not this season? Trying to workout some trades and keepers before our league deadline - thanks!!

The most intriguing options are Burns, Phaneuf, Voynov and Del Zotto IMHO. Phaneuf is a very nice combination of points and PIMs and probably will produce most PIMs of all the above-mentioned players long-term. Del Zotto is playing for an emerging team, is credited with much ice time including power play time and will be a very nice option moving forward. Voynov I like purely for his points potential; after Jack Johnson has moved out of LA, he should be built upon in the future.

I am not too much into Whitney anymore, he has been a bit injury prone during the last two years. Ian White is an okay option but as your league does not allocate points for +/- he ranks behind the other four guys for me.

Forget about a guy like Gilbert, he should be ranked last.
