Just wondering how you decided to set up the brackets - IMO the Gretzky bracket is fairly tight, the Lemieux bracket is IMO a landslide for Stamkos, etc.

This one was tough for me, just cast the tie vote for Skinner.

Dyz puts up a good question, was there a method to the bracketing?

The method was simple. Each of the writers and forum vets were asked to provide a ranking of their top 36 players. The votes were tabulated and each player was given a seeding based on where they ranked in the polls. So four #1 seeds were established. Four #2's and so on.

From there I had some fun pairing off players that I felt would make for compelling matches.

To address Dyz's question more directly, the reason you feel one bracket is more challenging than another may simply be a result of your own subjective opinion or the simple fact that not all players of a certain seed are created equally.

This is the case in the March Madness bracket every year and yet every year there are still upsets. Transative properties will not necessarily apply to this tournament. Not every seed is going to be assigned the way the global community sees it so there will be upsets. We won't be able to say one player made it to round four so he is definitely better than the player who made it to round three unless they faced off directly. So the only true answers will come from the direct match ups and the ultimate winner of the tournament but fun is going to be engaging in the exercise.
