The loss of ad revenue is no surprise. I used to keep adblock turned off on this site, until I started seeing the most obnoxious noisy / growing ads.

And then I found the direct link to the forums when I had forum jump issues, and twitter bar hate - which doesn't have any ads for now.

I'm happy to leave my adblocking off if the site is smart about how they do it, but if they actively detract from my enjoyment of a site - they're gone.

so much bitching and moaning for using a free site? Come on guys, ads are a fact of life on the internet, and unless Dobber starts charging a membership fee or something along those lines, it is one of the few ways he has of trying to generate a bit of income from this place.

The info I get from here is certainly worth me putting up with a couple of ads per page.

Things are still under construction. This is not how the forum will look. But I will be taking the frames off of the forum - no more Twitter box. I will have one banner along the top and one along the bottom. Maybe one in the middle, if my guys can set it up.

As for flashy ads - please let me know of any. I have my ad network remove them immediately. I hate them and want nothing to do with them. Ditto for "auto-play" videos, or anything that makes noise.
