Your goaltending isn't the greatest. Staal must be killing your +/-, guys like Carter, Briere, Liles and Green have been injured recently. Ovi has been underperforming, and Vanek is seemingly one of the lone bright spots on a squad that is falling apart. It seems to just be mostly bad luck so far, it shouldnt take much to turn it around IMO. If anything, try to trade a Bryzgalov, Staal and Wheeler for a top goalie like Quick (or another great goalie on a team where a guy could use some solid offence), you are getting rid of a lot of your +/- problem and Wheeler could well be replaced on the WW depending on how deep your league is.

I agree... your goaltending, while pretty adequate (3 in the top 15) is not your strong suit. The top tenders (howard, rinne, lundy) in your league have twice the points of your goalies.

Ditch the terrible +/- players, they are dragging you down. Focus on solid +/- and PIM players.

Good luck

your team looks pretty decent to me, just some bad luck with goalies. I see shp's are a category in your league. how are you doing in that? besides Staal I don't see many of those players picking up any.

I would say yes, however he would be lower on the list than a Rinne, Quick, Thomas or Lundqvist

Yeah I remember assessing your team earlier in the year... the goalies and +/- is where you are getting hurt... Staal might pick up a point or 2 points every night, but if he goes -2 it all gets negated.

Also the goalies that thrive in your setting is the ones that are high wins low GA goalies...

The price of Rinne, Lundy are going to be sky high which will be too expensive to acquire, you're better off looking at less "notable" options, who will come at a cheaper price than the "big names":

Nabby (7 wins, 1.48 GAA)
Brodeur (6 wins, 2.05 GAA)
Kipper (6 wins, 1.78 GAA)
Lehtonen (6 wins, 2.42 GAA)
Giggy (4 wins, 2.09 GAA)
Pavelec (5 wins, 2.14 GAA)

(numbers from last month)

A package of Bryz + Staal should get you an upgrade at the forward position plus one of these goalies pretty easily.
