Default Leafs Prospect Update:Korbinian Holzer

Who is Korbinian Holzer? If you don't know yet, he is a big deal! At 6'3" 205 lb the German born defensive defenseman is making an impact, and people are starting to take notice.

Holzer has been underrated for a few years now but I noticed CBC's HNIC mentioning him last Saturday and how he could be one of the reasons that Toronto can afford to trade a defenseman.

I believe Bob MacKenzie was talking about him last night on the pre-game show prior to the Oilers game as well. Pretty much summed up what was said by CBC and how the Leafs have more options at D that can net them a solid top 6 fwd. Basically saying that teams are noticing him, obviously the Leafs do, but that there are more options now for them to play with when it comes to long term possibilities.

Yeah, I agree. Holzer caught my eye last year, and although I haven't really followed up with him much, I can see him cracking an NHL roster next season if he gets the chance. Very smart player who can play in his own zone well although his ceiling is limited in terms of points.
