Just like in grade 6. But maybe not so elementary.
Another GM in my league wants to salvage his team for the playoffs and is actively seeking trades as I have a glut of offense. Using my skater cats... Vanek vs. Neal Iginla vs. Selanne St Louis vs. Kessel How do their values stack up.. and..Any thoughts of N.Backstrom - goalie? Thanks everyone |

Vanek vs. Neal
Neal by a mile he will outproduce in every single category, better team, red hot Malkin makes him look amazing. Iginla vs. Selanne close on G,A, Iggy gets edge in PIMs, SOG and may heat up with Cammy back. Ducks are improving and Selanne is always a go to PPP guy also he seems to defy age. I'd take Iggy by a hair. St Louis vs. Kessel Kessel gets G, +/-, SOG, all the other categories are very close. St. Louis' value is higher if he plays with Stamkos. Kessel gets the edge. How do their values stack up.. and..Any thoughts of N.Backstrom - goalie? Solid peripherals but won't get a ton of help on offence so not a great win number, Minnesota has fallen back to earth. He'll get the bulk of the starts and be around 2.4 GAA and .915 SV% in the 2nd half.

Not even really going to editorialize. Just go with Neal, you should know why.
Iggy's edge in PIMs and the allure of playing with Cammy down the stretch are more valuable to me than Selanne going into the 2nd half of the year as old as he is, I'd take Ig, although this is close. I would take Kessel because that top line really does seem to be for real, and he's going to shoot and score until the end of the season, STL will get you more assists, but for the rest of the categories it's Kessel. I think he's a decent buy low now if you can get him, the guy always has great peripherals, but will not get many wins unless that team deals for Parise and starts giving him some support. But, if you're talking about the team in your sig, don't think it's worth grabbing him, roll with what you have.

Vanek vs. Neal
Neal - Vanek is more accomplished but Neal's never played a full season. My argument for Neal is: 1) He has LW/RW eligibility. 2) Pitt > Buf. 3) Neal plays with Malkin. 4) When Crosby is back, Neal plays with Crosby and Malkin on the PP. 5) Neal better +/-, slightly more PPP, more points, and 204 SOG as compared to Vaneks 132. Neal by a lot. Iginla vs. Selanne Close but depending on what you are looking for, it might sway you towards one of them. Iginla will give you better peripherals but not as many points. Selanne will get you more points and PPP and the ducks have seemed to have turned it around. Iginla is a little more clutch, 4 GWG as opposed to Selannes 0. Iginla will get you more goals. Selanne better +/-. Depending on how you stand in your league with your categories, you might sway in either direction. St Louis vs. Kessel Kessel - newfound chemistry with Lupul doesnt seem to slow down and I dont think it will. More shots, more goals. St Louis will probably get you more assists but Kessel is more productive all around. St Louis should still end up around the 80 point range but give me Kessel. N.Backstrom He will bounce back from his horrible stretch of horrible games. But Harding will always be a threat. I like your current goalies more than Backstrom.
