Hard to answer such a broad question without knowing what your team needs are...

I presume it's not the league in your sig.

Sorry I should have been clearer. I am basically just looking for someone who you guys think will outproduce Richards the rest of the way, but is attainable for him. My needs are players who don't suck haha...drafted Ovie, Staal, Roy, Richards, Price, and Stewart. But Im still in 8th place out of 16.

I'd try to trade him for a second half momentum studs like LeCavalier, Getzlaf, Ryan, Moulson, Elias. The other option is just to keep him. Brad Richards is too good of a player to suck all year especially if he's got good surrounding players.

I agree with this -

LeCavalier was struggling earlier this year...Getzlaf may have just turned the corner but still not producing on the same clip as Perry/Ryan, so the owner may still be down on him.

Getzlaf then LeCav in that order for me.

A big gamble (though the team is a bunch of hockey lepers) is Vanek...he usually has bigger second halfs, and plays wunderbar at home...which a lot of Feb is for the Sabres...may be a good time to pick him up esp with his last month of suck

I happen to think Richards will turn things around and have a good 2nd half, so I don't know why you'd be shopping him. If you must trade him, I'd target guys like Staal, Kovy, Parise, St. Louis, Kane, Benn, Getz and Kopi.

More than likely you won't be able to get any of those.

Here's the problem: Richards had a shitty first half... so his value is depressed right now. He's exactly the type of guy you should be trying to trade FOR (he's the answer to your question)... so I suggest you hold onto him, because at his current value, you won't be getting anyone with better upside.

Remember, the strategy is to buy low and sell high, not the other way around

I really like the Elias suggestion tbh, especially since its a one-year.

A lot of people haven't realized this but Elias plays a HUGE role on the Devils' powerplay. I'd say he and Kovalchuk get the most touches (Elias at the half boards and Kovalchuk on the point), and he should be a good consistent option for the rest of the season. Best part is you MAY be able to get a slight upgrade outta the guy since Richards is a bigger 'name'.

Really think you hold him. Remember, the NYR PP has been really bad lately, and that contributes to his underperformance, so I think when that comes around, he's going to get back on his horse and score.

I agree with Blayze's sentiments here, Rich is a buy-low guy, and unless you can get a player like Benn, Staal or Getz in a 1 for 1, I wouldn't do this.

Thanks boy. I already have Staal so I have an offer out for Getzlaf right now. His owner has Ryan as well so maybe he'll want to differentiate.

Ah, ok, was looking at the team in your sig. Good to know, I do like that deal, as you get 4x as many PIMs for losing some shots.

Good luck bud. Thanks for repping
