So I have a guy chasing me for Suter. He is contending and I am rebuilding. Our league is a modified salary cap Dynasty league.

He has proposed some crap offers to this point so I am considering countering with:

Zack Kassian and Cam Fowler

for Suter


I like the looks of the offer, but wondering if I am selling Suter too short. Am I not getting enough in return? I have to be careful with him too as he is going into contract negotiations this summer as well, and we all know he is due a big fat raise from his 3.5m he currently makes so that is something I am taking into consideration as well.

I'm a pretty big fan of Suter's game, that deal is a tough call. You'd be getting two good young prospects in return for a very reliable multi-cat stud dman. In the long run I think you probably win but in the shorter term you lose. But you're also right about his new contract playing an important role. I see him getting somewhere in the 7 mil range so that will be a big hit to your cap.

If you're rebuilding then I think it's a good move to make this deal. It will give you some cap space, and there's no reason to believe that the guys you're getting back won't become solid players in the future.
