Yet another quiet Sunday in the NHL with only two games. I'd be more ashamed that I didn't tune in to watch these games until late if I wasn't watching Tim Tebow do it AGAIN! Let us all take a moment to Tebow in honour of our lord and saviour Tim Tebow. Are you on one knee? Get that ****er down. It's Tebow time.
Studs Excellent Use of the Pause Function With 1:10 left, down one and a faceoff in the offensive zone, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville called a timeout to get his big boys rested and to diagram a play. They tied the game right off the draw on a tip in from Andrew Brunette. Let Me See You One-Two Step The Rangers GAS line brought it on Sunday combining for four goals and seven points, led by Derek Stepan who scored two goals, added an assist and went plus-three. Meanwhile, Anisimov and Gaborik each added a goal and an assist. Who Has Two Thumbs and Loves Owning Steve Eminger? "This Guy!" Oh... I guess that doesn't work so well when you can't see my thumbs. Allow me to clarify. I have Steve Eminger on my team in the 24-team salary cap UHL Dynasty that you may or may not have heard about. Eminger's beauty performance on Sunday helped me eke out a big come-from-behind victory. His goal tied the goals category for me, while his one SOG helped push me over the top in that category. He also made a couple of blocked shots that helped me take down that category as well. What the three other people on the planet who also have Eminger in a pool were likely more impressed with was that he posted a stellar plus-four rating and added two PIM. He was an absolute rotisserie monster on Sunday night so here's to you, Steve Eminger, stud of the night! Now please go back to being irrelevant. HM It's worth mentioning that Eminger's defense partner Michael Del Zotto was also plus-four and added an assist and four SOG. It can be kind of exhausting singing his praises but once again Henrik Lundqvist posted a beauty of game. Despite limited action Lundqvist stayed focused and stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced to take home goalie of the night honours. Right behind Lundqvist was the Razor, Ray Emery, who kept the Blackhawks in the game long enough to allow them to tie it with a minute remaining and ultimately win in overtime. Emery stopped 35 of the 37 shots thrown at him by the Sharks. Marian Hossa dropped dimes on both the game tying and game winning goals for the Blackhawks and was a constant threat on the ice. His resurgence this season has been fantastic. The fact that the Blackhawks had such an early exit last spring has had a tremendous impact on Hossa's conditioning and durability this season. After three straight runs to the Stanley Cup Final, Hossa finally got a full summer to rest and recover. It's clearly paying dividends now. Duds I Was Saying Boo-urns It's not that Brent Burns had a terrible game but he managed no points and only one SOG (a weak wrister in overtime). More importantly he was minus-one after getting boxed out by Patrick Sharp for the OT winner. I kind of blame the coaching staff for double-shifting Burns in that situation leaving him exhausted and incapable of battling for position. No Way Jose Jose Theodore got eviscerated on Sunday night giving up six goals on 22 shots and getting the hook after two periods. A Triumvirate of Terrible Triples Three Panthers players went minus-three in Sunday night's blowout loss to the Rangers: Ed Jovanovski, Sean Bergenheim and Tomas Kopecky. It's kind of a shame they each have three years remaining on their contract. DHM Dan Girardi and Ryan McDonagh for somehow going minus-one in a 6-1 blowout victory. Okay, Ruslan Fedotenko too, but he doesn't know any better. The Panthers special teams for going 0/7 on the power play and allowing the Rangers to go 2/3 on theirs. The Panthers nearly had as many shots blocked by the Rangers as they had get to the net, which I guess is a credit to the Rangers but screw the kittens. Pickles for going minus-two on the night and for teasing people into thinking he was a big time scorer. Since that seven points in three games show he put on Vlasic now has just one point in his last nine games and is back on pace for fewer than 40 points. I warned you all not to be fooled!

Thumbs up to this. Good write up.
Disappointment of the night: Neither Weiss nor Toews managed a special teams point for my squad. So I lost one of my head to heads and am no longer in 1st place.

Seriously, +1 for the Boo-urns reference. One of the best line from the Simpsons. I still use it at times.

I've got to agree with my peers on this one, Md. Solid, solid write-up. Really great job.

Quote:
Speaking of Stepan earlier, he is really heating up now with 19 pts in his last 19 games.
