Unfortunately with only one Easter Conference team in action last night I didn't actually see any of the games so if i miss something please feel free to comment.
Studs Quick, Quick, like a chat. Sensational! L.A. King goalie Jonathan Quick posted his league leading fourth shut out in a 2-0 win over the San Jose Sharks making 33 saves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ywv_JCyolU Preds pounce on limping Oilers to snap a four game losing streak. Edmonton have lost seven of their last ten now after Tootoo scored the game winning goal late in the third. As Dobber pointed out in today's ramblings, in Tootoo's last four games he has five points, four PIM's and 16 SOG http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgmJS2t_EgY Cal Clutterbuck has the best hockey name ever! And he is playing very good hockey this year as well. Clutterbuck scored his third short-handed goal of the season to help the Wild snap their two game losing streak. Clutterbuck also had an assist, three shots on goal, was +2 and had three hits and was the games second star in last nights stat line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4fYVteC8jo Honorable Mention Congratulations to Kirk Muller and Dale Hunter on their first NHL Head Coaching jobs Team Canada announces its preliminary roster yesterday for the World Junior Tournament. It is the most exciting hockey tournament in the world IMO and I can't wait. Congratulations to all who were selected for their country and good luck making the team. Duds You're Fired! Bruce Boudreau and Paul Maurice take the fall in Washington and Carolina. Struggling super stars poor performance leads to head coaching changes. It will be interesting to watch their replacements Dale Hunter and Kirk Muller, both first time NHL coaches. Hunter has plenty of head coaching experience in the OHL with the London Knights but no NHL coaching experience. Muller has plenty of NHL experience as an assistant coach, but only a hand full of games as a head coach in the AHL. What experience will have more immediate success, NHL, or Head Coaching? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wz7zo1BvvA4 Pacioretty gets a "MAX" suspension I am pretty frustrated with this. At the start of the season I was elated to see what Shannahan was attempting to do with hits to the head. But lately, I am really having a hard time understanding why Wolski was not suspended and Pacioretty was. I did not even think Pacioretty should have been suspended, let alone be suspended. Watch the video and you be the judge! http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?id=138334 Pronger out for four weeks Pronger owners will be frustrated as he is having another surgery. This time it is on the aging defenders knee and he will be sidelined four weeks. (Couldn't think of a video to go with this one) Dishonorable mentions: Taylor Hall is out 2-4 weeks and as a result MPS has seen elevated ice time. 15:12 last night but still was held pointless. In 20 games this season, MPS has only one assist. Brutal! That's it. Keep your stick on the ice!

I love the world juniors but the most exciting tournament is definitely Olympic ice hockey. If you disagree, try telling that to the fear boner I had for like two week's straight during the last Olympics.

Love these S&D posts but where's the love for Eberle? Everyone is talking about the Nuge (and rightfully so), but with that nice snipe last night Ebs has rattled off 13 pts in his last 8 gms and sits at ppg for the season. Pretty impressive start to the season for one of the most polarizing prospects on the dobber boards in recent memory.

Hahaha fear boner...love The League references on here, so rare.
While the OLYs will always have more at stake, there's definitely something to be said for the raw energy and swings that happen so often at the WJC. I was 8 rows back in Buffalo last year, and watching Russia-Finland and Kuznetsov just destroy Finland in his brutal black Bauers was sick to watch. Canada's shootout against Sweden? Not so sick to watch. Blechhhhh.
