Tonight's studs and duds brought to you by Dobberhockey.com...
STUDS Strength up the middle Mike Richards had an incredible game tonight. He posted a goal and an assist which is impressive but not nearly his most significant achievement of the night. Richards finished 15/16 on faceoffs (93.75%). This is great for leagues that could faceoff wins or faceoff percentage. Everybody wins! Lucky seven Yeah, this title is lame but I don't care. The Maple Leafs torched the Lightning 7-1. Oddly enough, they did so by attacking the Tampa Bay defence (take note, Flyers). Several Leaf players benefited from the flooding of the score sheet: Jake Gardiner: 2 assists, +4, 8 PIM Tyler Bozak: 2 goals, 1 assist, +2, 5 shots Tim Connolly: 1 goal, 2 assists, 9/17 faceoffs Backups come through All three winning goalies tonight are currently backups on their respective teams. Jonas Gustavsson (27/28, 1.00, .964), Johathan Bernier (23/25, 2.00, .920) and Devan Dubnyk (30/32, 2.00, .938) each had big fantasy nights as well. In the case of Monster, it's a second consecutive strong game while his NHL career is basically in limbo. Honourable mention The Edmonton Oilers also put up a lot of goals tonight. The kid line especially stood out. Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each posted two assists while Jordan Eberle had two goals and an assist. DUDS Struck by lightning Normally this title is reserved for when the Lightning pull off a victory. But this time one of their own was struck. Dwayne Roloson had a forgettable night allowing six goals on 21 shots. He was chased after 45 minutes of play. His GAA for the night is around 8.00 and his save percentage was .714. This is the type of game that makes poolies in H2H leagues have fits. Predators goaltenders If you own either Nashville goaltender, tonight was a dud for you. Both goalies saw the ice in the 6-2 defeat against the Oilers and both were awful. Pekka Rinne was 10/13, 9.00, .769 in 20 minutes while Anders Lindback was 16/19, 4.50, .842 in 40 minutes. St. Louis, Lecavalier fail to deliver Vincent Lecavalier did in fact score the lone Lightning goal tonight but both forwards finished minus-4. That is ugly for some league formats. Dis-honourable mention When people see seven goals next to the Maple Leafs on a boxscore they immediately hope to see the names of Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul, two of the NHL's top-three scorers to date, all over the socre sheet. Unfortunately, both players were held to a single point each.

So if a player gets a point in a game and gets a dishonorable mention, if he gets only a point in all 82 games in the season, what does he get?
You know something is wrong when Gustavsson is starting to look good - isn't that right Rollie owners? Nice post Eric, thanks. |

Yeah that was a tough one. With only three games there isn't a ton of material to work with. I just figured that with seven goals on the board most people would think multi-point game for their top scorers.
