So after some consideration, I have decided to do this report every two weeks instead of every week. The main reason is that it gives a little more time for trends to develop with players that are available and those that may be worth dropping.
Just a reminder that these writeups are based on weekly head to head or rotisserie style leagues. Most of the players mentioned here would already be owned in the majority of keeper leagues, but the information could still be useful to owner's in keeper leagues that are debating on making moves. Lastly, when a reference is made to a player being owned or not owned by a percentage of leagues, I am using Yahoo leagues as a guide. I figure many people use them and they should be comparable with most other pools. Worth a Look Tomas Fleischmann LW FLA Fleischmann has put together a nice little hot streak recently. With a current five game point streak, he has notched seven points over that span and has four goals in his last four games. In 11 total games this season he has only been held off the scoresheet three times and is a plus-5. He is also averaging over 19 minutes of ice-time while seeing some action on Florida's top line, and ranks second on the Panthers with 30 shots on goal. Take a peak at your waiver wire as Yahoo lists him as only 22% owned. Chris Kunitz LW PIT So Kunitz is available in 66% of leagues which is a little puzzling to say the least. A lot of that probably has to do with the absence of one Sidney Crosby. Despite this, Kunitz has tallied four goals in his last six games and looks to be heating up. He is also averaging nearly three shots on goal and two hits per game for the season. May be wise to scoop him up now before Crosby returns as he likely won't be available for long after that. Fedor Tyutin D CLB One of the few bright spots on a bad Columbus team, Tyutin is riding a three game point streak in which he has notched two goals. His plus-3 rating is second on the team and he has been a physical force with 27 hits while adding 20 blocked shots. Tyutin is only 8% owned and could give your team some valuable depth on the blueline. Jason Arnott C STL With eight points in his first 11 games, Arnott seems to be rejuvenated in St. Louis. At 37 years old, his age may be the primary reason he is only 15% owned but he can certainly still add some value. His real strength right now may be in the face-off dot where he has won 77 draws for a 52.7% average on the year. Next up for the Blues is the Canucks on Friday who rank 23rd in goals against, this could be a solid matchup for Arnott. Drop 'EM Dwayne Roloson G TB With just a dissapointing two wins this season, Roloson is starting to show his age. Despite coming off a strong performance, his save percentage is under .900 and his GAA is pushing 4.00. He has been thoroughly outplayed by backup Mathieu Garon as the two have been splitting starts. Look for Garon to get more of the playing time as Roloson has posted games where he has conceded five goals (twice) and seven goals (once) in his five starts. Not to mention two of the Lightning's next four games are against Chicago and Philadelphia who rank number four and number one respectively in goals for. Brandon Dubinsky C NYR A two assist performance lastnight against the Sharks isn't enough to convince me Dubinsky is back on track. He has yet to score this season and those two points were his first in five games. With just 14 shots on net this season and one power play point, the only thing Dubinsky is producing at the moment is PIM. With the addition of Brad Richards many thought that would take some of the pressure off him, but so far he has yet to deliver. |

Bold decision to have Dubinsky in the Drop 'em section!
Definitely gives food for thought. I look forward to this all season long, consider it tweeted!

Interesting read but no way would I advocate dropping Dubinsky. He will pick it up and in multi-cat leagues where PIM and Hit count as well, he's a stud. Deciding to drop based on a small sample size is not a good idea.

Yea I think your gonna get beat up a bit on the Dubinskey drop idea.
In Michaels defense though I can almost understand the logic. Dubinskey has kind of gradually emerged as a nice secondary fantasy option with great real world value. It might just be me but it seems like a handful of similar guys are emerging in quite the same role. For example Bolland and Hanzal who have had the pedigree for quite some time seem to be finding a productive niche. At years end either guy might be looked at in a similar light to how we look at Dubinskey today. That being said its kind of hard to sit on your consistent across the board 55-60 point Dubinskey type guy when there may be a very similar player sitting untouched on waivers- especially when that same consistent guy is putting up doughnuts and minuses. Dubs strength is his reliability not some otherworldly upside. So far this season he has not been reliable- it happens. Im not saying to go drop him. Im not- but before everyone jumps all over the suggestion itd be wise to consider the league setup, player pool and waiver options. I dont think Dubinskey is "undroppable".

I own Dubinsky in three leagues, and I am in no rush to drop him in any of them.

Another thing to remember about Dubinsky is that he is a streaky player. To judge him based on 10 games played is unwise.

yea I agree- wasnt attacking your statement either. I tend to agree- i dont think Id drop him- Im just trying to look at the advice in context- but for the record Im not gonna drop him based on ten games either. Just saying for me Im a little curious if guys like the aforementioned Hanzal/Bolland are just as servicable options by this time next year.
