Anton Stalman is STILL practicing with the Devils but no contract (yet). Do they just need to dump some salary before they can sign him?

Any info would be appreciated.

Any word yet guts? I have been waiting patiently to jump on this guy as soon as he signs. Anything would be appreciated!

news today was that he was heading back to Sweden, as he can't stay with NJ without a contract. LL said that they will keep him in mind but there is no guarantee of a contract.

Apparently there are some work visa issues at play here.

"Anton Stralman will still practice with the Devils when they return from the road trip, but the training camp invitee was ineligible to travel to Nashville with the team due to visa issues. He's spending some time with his family in Sweden and it wouldn't be surprising if the Devils offered him a contract sometime next week. New Jersey does not play until next Friday following Saturday's contest with the Predators."

Thanks a lot. I think they will offer him a contract too pretty soon, can't see them dicking him around this long...
