Default Enstrom or Karlsson

Hi guys, with my first round picks, I think both of these guys may be available early on. If they're both there at pick 5, do you think it's advisable to take Enstrom or Karlsson (Burns I think is an outside shot at making my squad). My roster is good this year and I think I have a shot at the title, but I have to make some smart first round decisions to make it happen.

Thing is, both will have played >200 NHL games by the end of the season, so I'll either have to drop / trade them or they take the place of Doughty.

What say you!?

That is a tough decision for sure. Long term I like Karlsson here by a bit. I think Enstrom may out-point him by a slim margin this year however (my opinion is similar to Dobber's here) so if you are completely convinced that you will drop/trade this player at year's end then you may want to go with Enstrom.
What I would do though is take Karlsson and keep him next year while dropping Spezza. No confidence is Spezza at all and this way you lock up two young and among the highest potential Dmen in the league with Doughty and Karlsson.

With your cats (no SOG - G and A are equal weight), this is pretty much a toss-up. Both should pot about 50pts this year, both risk having poor +/-. Karlsson more Gs and Enstrom more As. I might go Enstrom only since you already have Spezza, plus Enstrom has more NHL games under his belt and has proven to be quite durable. In a league where SOGs count, Karlsson would be the easy choice, Enstrom will always be a low SOG - high A guy.

I'll take Enstrom, especially since it's only for this year essentially.

Enstrom for me too, considering it is only for one-year. Neither would EVER replace Doughty as your keeper dman. I'm not sure I'd drop any of your forwards either (such as Spezza as someone suggested). So, take Enstrom because he "should" have slightly better numbers this coming season.

With those stat catgeroys and only being for one year i´d suggest the safe pick in Enstrom as well. You know what you get. Karlsson will explode and get better but it might take some time most certainly it will go hand in hand with the improvent of the Sens in general. For next season Enstrom should outscore him with those cats even if he is an awesome talent.
