In a 10 team league. Snake draft. Farm team is limited at 10 players.
I'm wondering who i should pick at first pick. Since i'm picking 1st and 21st, should i maybe trade both choises for a 5th and 15th or a 10th 11th. I already own Schenn, so i do have a top gun in my keepers. RNH, seems good but not ripe... Not sure i want him that much... Available player are (sorry for the big list...) Nugent-Hopkins-C-EdmÂ* David Rundblad-D-OttÂ* Ryan Ellis-D-NasÂ* Ryan Johansen-C-CLBÂ* Brett Connolly W TBÂ* Brendan Smith D DetÂ* Vladimir Tarasenko F StlÂ* Adam Larsson D NjÂ* Mikael Granlund F MinÂ* Jonathan Huberdeau F FlaÂ* Jack Campbell G DalÂ* Gabriel Landeskog-F-ColÂ* Stefan Elliott - D - ColÂ* Jake Allen - G - StlÂ* Ryan Strome-F-NY IslesÂ* Evgeny Kuznetsov-C-WasÂ* Tomas Tatar-C-DetÂ* John Moore-D-CLBÂ* Nazeem Kadri-F-TorÂ* Joe Colborne-F-TorÂ* Eric Gudbranson-D-FlaÂ* Nick Leddy-D-ChiÂ* Sean Couturier-F-PhiÂ* Cody Hodgson C VanÂ* Jhonas Enroth-G-BufÂ* Jaden Schwartz-F-StlÂ* Andrei Loktionov-F-LAÂ* Ryan Murphy-D-CarÂ* Charlie Coyle-F-CalÂ* Dougie Hamilton-D-BosÂ* Nikita Filatov-F-OttÂ* Luke Adam-F-BufÂ*

You should take RNH. He will be centering Taylor Hall in a year or 2. Crazy potential.

I'd consider doing a trade here. I assume you're last place? Probably, RNH has the highest offensive ceiling but it isnt assured. Really depends on the rest of your squad. If it has few holes, then keep the pick. But, given all the '10 & '11 top draftees available here, I might trade down as you suggested. It will depend on the needs of #2-#9. The more d-men & goalies that go the better for you.
But, on the other hand, this appears to be a deep draft and #20 pick should land you a good prospect. From this list you could land Murphy or Couturier. You never know. But I may lean towards acquiring a lot of picks in the #15-#25 range, there is a lot of quality there. Tough choice but it might depend on the makeup of your regular roster and how much separation there is to be #1. The bigger the separation, the more importance on landing elite prospects. |

Take Ryan Nugent-Hopkins or Vladimir Tarasenko, pick one.

If you have a farm or prospects spot then take RNH. That potential trade isn't that appealing to me as you only move up 6 spots but drop four.
I also would take RNH as you should only have to wait a year on him. From your list there are only a few players who will see NHL ice this year (Kadri, Hodgson, Enroth, Johansen, Smith, Leddy, Filatov and Adam) and even then I don't see them making it worth sacrificing RNH's potential. Unless you are in dire need of a defenseman (Rundblad, Elliott, Smith) then I would draft RNH

RNH! Like most people said, the fact that he will be Edmonton's #1 center in the future plus the fact that he has incredible hockey IQ makes him the best prospect in hockey.

If you don't want RNH then you have to trade the pick. Taking anyon else at #1 does not make sense. With a draft this deep I'd be looking for two picks in the middle instead of one on each end.
