Here are my rankings and I even put them in Tiers or groups. I see Boyle as the sure thing. The next as they are all good choices. The following one contains some risk. The last I would rather not draft.

I have an 8-category (G, A, +-, PIM, Hits, PPP, GWG, SOG) evaluator that I use. I've listed some of the better player's scores & ranks among D above.

In any league including HITS, it is really important to know your players HIT totals. There are top notch defenseman that don't register a lot of hits and this hurts their value (Boyle 55hits, Visnovsky 52hits, Lidstrom 49hits, Keith only 45hits) and there are lesser-known defenseman that hit a TON and this really helps their value (Weber 211hits, Seabrook 227hits, Phaneuf 186hits, Meszaros 189hits, Peckham 196hits, Robidas 216hits).

Meszaros is a terrific "draft-late" player because he is buried on PHI by recognized offensive talent.

Blocked shots can also really improve a defenseman's value.
Typically, the bigger guys kill penalties and that's where Blocked Shots really add up.
Larger (6'-2"+ guys) are typically going to do very well in BkS because they play the PK.

Good luck.

A quick question. I want to add Rundblad to the list. Where do I put him? I'm starting to eat the hype on him and I'm impressed more and more. THe question is, does he hit or is he just offensive?
